We spent one night here this week and had a fantastic time. We'd popped in last year and enjoyed a relaxing bar meal and a few local ales by the roaring fire, however this time we wanted to stay over. Room 6 overlooks the Falls of Dochart and is a great room: comfy 4-poster bed, roll-top bath, under-floor heating in... More

We stayed at the Falls of Dochart Inn at the end of March. The location of the inn is superb, just across the road from the falls. We were in room 6, overlooking the falls, and it was warm and clean with a comfy 4 poster bed. The bathroom was also spotless with a roll top bath with shower attachment... More

We booked a meal at this hotel based on a recommendation and unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The table was booked in advance which was just as well as the restaurant was full. Initially a very good sign. We were shown to the table right away another good sign. Then it went wrong. We waited for someone... More

Very promising on approach, lovely view, good car parking. It ended there! Went in for Saturday lunch. Grubby little place, grease even on the menu. Chose steak pie assuming that the price would guarantee quality. Meat was tough, maybe fit for the dog but maybe not. Pointed this out to the waitress when I handed her back my half finished... More

We stayed for two weekend nights at the Byre cottage and although small, I wouldn't fully rely on the bad reviews it has received from previous travellers. When we arrived there we were greeted by the friendly owner who led us to the cottage. Albeit small, the cottage itself is clean, well equipped and warm. The bedroom is tiny but... More

We stopped here for lunch on a day out driving around the Trossachs on a cold and sunny day in February. The inn is right beside the Falls of Dochart and we had a seat by the window so the view was a fine backdrop to our lunch. We had haggis, neeps and tat ties plus two non-alcoholic drinks. The... We chose the cafe here for a late morning snack on a sunny Sunday at the beginning of the half-term. The location could not have been more perfect, right next to the beautiful falls. The attractive room was cold despite a large open fire, the scone was stale, the coffee below par and the poor woman serving at the counter... More

I last stayed in this hotel in 1992. As then, the bedroom was very good and well appointed. Four poster bed, great view out to the bridge etc. I'm very disappointed to give the "terrible" rating to the stay, however. The trouble started the next morning. Ready for breakfast at 8 to 8:30 am, but no staff! Other guests assembled... More

Myself and my husband first discovered this hotel when we had been driving around Scotland and booking into different places we found every night - we chose the Falls of Dochart Inn because it was right on the falls and we have visited twice more as we loved it so much. All times we have been lucky enough to have... More
