We love Killin and have always stayed at the same hotel but this time we booked the Paris Room at The Old Smiddy for a short break and weren't disappointed. We knew the Paris Room was 'compact' but the price reflected this and the spotless en suite facilities and comfortable bed were all there for us after a day's walking.... More

I had never been to Killin, or any of the surrounding areas until my visit this july and i was more than impressed by the incredible reception I received. All the staff went above and beyond to check i was happy with how things were, that my food was as i liked it and offered any additional help towards me... More

The Old Smiddy is run by delightful, friendly and very accommodating people. It is a family run B&B and you can tell. The welcome you get is second to none and the room we stayed in was very clean, tidy and spacious, tastefully decorated too. There is a cosy "snug" with an open fire where you can relax with a... Had never been to killen before but will be back soon, had a great stay in the smiddy, fab food and all the staff couldn't have been more helpful, would defiantly recommend for a short break away, when your there a walk to the head of the loch has amazing views.

Popped in for lunch, really tasty Cullen skink and fresh chicken burger. Friendliest eatery by far and interesting story of the Old Smiddy building. You've got to take a look in to view the original ceiling. Very children friendly and great to finish off with a yummy ice cream. We're glad we chose here over other places and will be... More

After reading some of the reviews we decided to pop in for dinner. Waiting staff and atmosphere were lovely but food was awful. The 'hand cooked salted chips' were supermarket value oven chips at best. The steak & ale steak pie was gloopy & soggy. Did not stay for b&b. Doubt we will return.

We had 1 night at this B&B during our tour of the Scotland's Highlands. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both meals were superb: fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked. The room was clean, well-furnished and very comfortable. It also had a wonderful view over river. Excellent stay from start to finish!

What a spot, the Hotel is lovely, the staff friendly and helpful. Being gluten and lactose intolerant, it can often be difficult to eat out and be away from home, but a suitable cooked breakfast was served, there is a good range of Gluten free choices on the menu in the restaurant, we ate there all three nights it was... A very enjoyable dining experience was had on a rather damp Saturday evening in April. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The menu was extensive, very reasonably priced and with decent sized portions.

This is a must place to go and eat! The food is fantastic, the setting is amazing and the staff are lovely. Thanks to Lin, Devon and everyone else for making us feel so welcome and giving us 5* service. We've had one of the best holidays ever staying in Killin and will definitely be visiting again!
