If you book the Winnock do go for a deluxe room, if possible. We were allocated a deluxe room and were very pleased with the space and facilities it provided. A glance into some of the basic rooms showed them to be well 'basic'. The lounge areas are comfortable, The staff are very helpful. Breakfast is very good. We had... More

We were travelling around Scotland, and rather than rush back to Edinburgh we decided to find an overnight stop. We arrived rather late in they day at The Winnock, and had no booking. The receptionist was very helpful, and were given a family room for the price of a double, which we were able to view before deciding. The walk... More

Stayed 2 nights as part of a large group enjoying a murder mystery weekend. Entertainment provide by 5th horsemen productions, who were excellent fun. Food was great, atmosphere perfect and the room we stayed in was excellent. Full Scottish breakfast included in the price was brilliant. Staff were all really friendly. Will definitely go back.

I think from reading previous comments that there are two tiers in this hotel. The better bedrooms, dining rooms and amount of staff for the individual travellers and the ones provided for the many coach parties that stay here, of which we were one. The room was spotlessly clean but dated and nothing like the photos we saw on the... More

We had supper here on the first night of our West Highland Way tramp when staying at the excellent Braeside Guest House in Drymen. I had a tasty Cullen Skink followed by tender pink duck prepared to perfection. One of my travelling companions had excellent thick slices of beef with crisp vegetables. The staff were very efficient and informative and... More

We had a Red Letter package to stay at the Winnock Hotel for a Murder Mystery evening. We had a good time: the evening was entertaining (although the plot could have been a bit more interesting). Dinner was good and our room in the newer wing was very comfortable, spic and span and even had a TV above the bath.... More

This place is just lovely. The staff are a bit thin on the ground and overstretched, but always helpful and friendly. The food was delightful and our room very comfortable indeed. Drymen is a charming little spot close to Loch Lomond and the hotel is a white centrepiece. Some areas are obviously not brand new, but in a place with... More

This hotel is very pleasant, a nice little place, thoughtfully decorated with a good breakfast and seriously fabulous dinner. My excellent mark though, concerns a particular member of staff. Ryan; approachable, friendly, professional and did everything he could to make our stay the best it could be. When we asked if he knew of a local auto mechanic who might... More

The hotel is well located in the centre of the village and has welcoming bar and public areas. However, the rooms and public areas are all looking decidedly tired- several of the chairs are worn and desperately need re-upholstering, the carpet is looking worn and dated etc etc. There were rumours of wifi in the hotel, but we couldn't see...
