Stayed here for just the one night on my way further into the highlands. Met by James who was very pleasant and helpful, showing us to our room and offering help with bags. Room was modern, clean and well appointed, with everything you'd expect to find. The building is very old and has an interesting layout, and not untypical for... More

I would definately stay here again, it is an ideal stopover on the way to the highlands James and Nelly were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and evening meals were good. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

A very welcoming and kind host but...otherwise the staff were gruff and grumpy. Christmas decorations up in August? It felt as though keeping the hotel going was a struggle. The room was very basic - nothing lacking, but nothing welcoming and extra either. The hotel is on a busy main road so noisy if you want to open the window.... More

On arrival we were barely spoken to by the owner, he said hello then showed us our room, that was about all he said to us until breakfast. The room was dated and near the front of the hotel which is on a very busy road so noisy. There was hardly anyone around the hotel, the atmosphere was non existent... More

On arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome by the owner. The hotel had a warm, cosy feel to it and was a shame we only had 3 nights there. The room (room 3) was very clean with crisp white linen on the bed with comfy pillows and mattress that felt great after a days Monroe climbing. The room... More

I had a great stay here and found this to be a really charming hotel and very well kept despite being such an old building. The rooms were comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised to find the ensuite toilet having a much more contemporary design compared to the room. The bar was very cozy and doubled up as a restaurant.... More

Stayed here the first night of our honeymoon. Lovely location and very charming place. Ended up eating dinner there as well and the food was sooo good. Try the potato pancakes with smoked salmon. Delicious! John and Nelly are excellent hosts. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We (a couple) stayed at the Luib hotel for 4 nights late June early July 2014. We found the hotel really exceeded expectations. The room was fine, fairly standard, no issues. The ensuite bathroom was clean, modern and appeared recently refurbished or otherwise kept in very good order. We had breakfast at the Luib every morning, fiance had the fry... More

We - and 4 friends - spent a night at the Luib before touring the highlands on our bikes. We had the warmest of welcomes from James and Nelly plus a well-earned beer with the friendly locals after a long journey from the Isle of Wight. Had a superb evening meal (our first ever haggis burger - which was amazing!)... More

The luib hotel is placed in the most beautiful countryside about 5 miles from the nearest town crainlairach. The hotel is old 370 yr old building but the work the owners have done on it have given it great charecter . The bedrooms are of a high standard and bathrooms refurbished to very high standard downstairs in the bar/restaurant it... More
