I stopped at this hotel on the way south from Oban to see if I could get something good to eat. My timing was awkward as it fell between the usual lunch and dinner times but the owners of the hotel, James and Nelly couldn't have been more accommodating. I had a plate of barbecued lamb and rice which was... More

Excellent host and hostess. We could not fault the room, the food and the choice of malts. It was a wet and cold night in November but the log fire in the bar and the atmosphere made up for it. Our room overlooking the river and mountain was warm, cosy and had everything you need.

Stayed for three nights, the breakfasts were always very good and we ate there two evenings too. The owners, James and Nelly, are friendly and sociable and so were the locals. The place is very clean and well run by people who obviously enjoy what they do. They worked long hours but were always bright and cheerful. It's set apart... More

Spent a lovely evening at the Luib Hotel. The food was lovely breakfast was the best. The hotel is very nice, quaint in the way a 350 year old building is. James and Nelly were lovely, we spent a very pleasant evening in the bar with James. The scenery locally is superb and we had a great walk bagging two... More

Myself and my wife stayed here for a night at the end of September...had a great time, hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and has a great homely atmosphere...the hosts were lovely, as was the food, and having a drink sitting in front of the log fire at night was so relaxing...will be back!!

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Luib Hotel. We were wanting to stay somewhere off the beaten track and secluded so that we could witness some of Scotland's raw landscape, and we weren't disappointed. Our room was warm, and our double bed extremely comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel every night (even though there are other places... More

If you are used to the Sheratons, Holiday Inns etc. stay away. There is no lobby, no elevator, no bell boys but hey, who cares? Instead you have James and Nell who try to do everything to make you feel at home. We stayed there during the Rydercup since this was the only hotel who did not put up their... More

A group of us on a motorbike tour of Scotland stayed here for one night and what a lovely place it was. A very old building with character and a lively main room/bar/restaurant with an open fire. Wifi worked well. The owners were really welcoming and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Food wasn't cheap but it was exceptionally... More

Nice little B & B. Landlord is keen to please. Lovely bloke. Landlady is a fabulous cook. Some of the best food we had. Rooms are adequate and clean. The bar area has a log fire which after a day's hard motorcycle riding was a very welcome bottom warmer. Would we use it again ? Yes!

A very old building 350 years old in parts. The energy saving light bulbs and creaky floors give the hotel an atmosphere. But do not be put off by that. Nor by the discoloured water from the taps. This is all explained in the information sheet. James and Nelly are wonderful hosts and the food is excellent. The evening meal... More
