We stayed here one night while walking the WHW. The location is right on the Way, which was great after walking around and over Conic Hill with all the weekend visitors. Our room was in one of the separate cottages on the the main road. Room was very small, but the bathroom was huge so we had plenty of room... More

Stayed here after walking the first leg of the West Highland Way (Milngavie to Balmaha), it was a most welcoming sight after walking 20 miles, the last 2 being up and down conic hill, as it's straight off the WHW route. We stayed in one of the separate cottages a few metres from the hotel on the main road. The... More

We didn't stay here we were camping at near by Millarrochy Bay Campsite but we came for a meal and it was fantastic! We ate in the bar so can't comment on the restaurant but the bar area is full of character and we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. I'm sure the Inn is busy all... More

We stayed at the family owned Oaktree Inn in the lovely village of Balmaha as walkers on the West Highland Way. Excellent pub style food is served outside, in the bar with an impressive array of clocks, and in a family style tea room. Do try the delicious shared fish platter appetizer - almost enough for two as a main... More

Great service and wonderful setting to eat and drink. Food was not just well presented but gorgeous. Great menu. The pizzas are to die for. The bar is really interesting and all within walking distance of Local Camp sites (where I stayed)

The Inn including cottages plus the village shop and coffee shop are all run by the same family. Other than that you have the marina, a couple of B&B's plus the National Park Centre, a few houses and that's it! It's just 30 mins drive from Balloch and 45 mins from Glasgow airport. The location is idyllic, right on the... More

Do not stay here. I knew something was wrong when on the bedside tables there were ear plugs. The walls are so thin, that the snoring from the upstairs room was so loud it kept us awake, even with the earplugs in. The pressure in the shower was also terrible. When advised the reception of both of these things, I... More

Lovely inn on the shores of Loch Lomond. Good food (though the very same breakfast buffet gets a little tired after a couple days) in the restaurant and pub. Very quiet especially in the rooms located in the separate cottages that are part of the complex. Great location for exploring the Loch Lomond and Trossachs region. Loved our stay here... More

This was the first nights stay of a 3 night trip to Loch Lomond and Argyllshire. I will review The Putechan and The Shore Inn in separate reviews. We had a great time on our mini break but none of the places we stayed where what we thought they would be. Some elements better but some not so good. Balmaha... More
