June 15th 2009 My wife and I have recently returned from an excellent holiday in Scotland, 4 days of which were spent in the vicinity of Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond. Our four night bed & breakfast booking was made over the internet, to stay at the Gowanlea Guest House in Drymen Road. We had never been to... more

Stayed overnight on our way to the Western Isles. The guest house was very clean, the food was lovely and the hostess was very pleasant. The rooms weren't overly large but more than adequate. Perfect for a short stay. more

I was here for a wedding and was recommended to stay here by a friend. It didnt dissapoint, Andrea is "THE HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS". She was efiicient professional and made us feel welcome from the first moment we walked thriough the doors. The breakfast was fantastic, well cooked and presented, I think John ,Andreas husband has a secret ambition... more

My wife and I stayed here on Easter Sunday. We had the family room to the front of the house. It was immaculate and spacious, with a double and a single bed. En-suite was small but v modern and also immaculate. Breakfast was v good. Host and hostess could not have been more helpful or friendly. Indeed, John gave us... more

I stayed at Gowanlea Guest House as part of a business trip and thought it was excellent. They were very welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. As soon as we arrived we were offered tea & coffee in the lounge whilst we carried our bags in from the car! The rooms were very clean, very well presented and the... more

I just spent one night at Gowanlea and it was enough to recognise the best B&B I've stayed with in Scotland. I travel regularly in Scotland and frankly, the standard of accomodation has always disappointed. This was the exception! From the moment I stepped out of my car on the drive I was made to feel welcome and that nothing... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Gowanlea for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When looking for a B & B to stay near Loch Lomond, we were looking for value for money as a priority as well as ample location from the train station since we did not have our own transport. We found Gowanlea fitted... more

This was our second visit to Balloch and we couldn't wait to go back to Gowanlea. We arrived in the evening and were showed to the room that we were given last time (Andrea knew that we had stayed previously and had noted down the room we stayed in) which was great. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious and newly... more
