Stayed at gowanlea for wedding, very warm welcome and a pot of coffee and biscuits on arrival! Rooms are warmly lit with all the furnishings you require for your stay. Bathroom was more than ample for two people with bath and shower facilities - bathroom fittings were very new! Breakfast to die for with plenty of choices available - best... More

I'm biased as I'm from Balloch but have no ties to the town anymore. Balloch is a beautiful spot with the castlegrounds to walk through, but close enough to the city and on good train service for when the kids get bored of all that walking. Gowanlea is warm and clean, good food and hosts. Wi-fi is a plus and... More

We arrived at Gowanlea on a wet November evening and received a warm friendly welcome from our host. After showing us to our room we were given tea and biscuits in the lounge -a nice touch which is often lacking these days when tea-making facilities are provided in rooms. The room was comfortable and clean and had all we needed... More

A very friendly welcome. The room was well furnished, the bed comfortable and absolutely spotless. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. There were lots of extras available ( scales if you wanted to weigh yourself!) and everything was organised to make your visit a pleasant one. We had to leave more quickly than expected so didn't have time to... More

A great welcome by our B&B Host. It was a rainy evening and our Host offered us a cup of tea in the lounge. The room was very comfortable with an ensuite attached. Bathroom was modern having a bath & show and very spaceous.Breakfast was very organised with a short Questionnaire for our tailored selection of breakfast ready for the... More

Gowanlea was as good a bed & breakfast as you could wish for. The welcome from Andrea was very warm. The bedrooms are very comfortable. It is a short walk to Balloch with a host of eating places. Andrea provides advice on where to eat and activities in the area. There is a comfortable residents lounge. The breakfast was very... More

The b&b is in a great location close to great pubs and restaurants! The breakfast was really good and the bed was incredibly comfy! The owners were lovely and really welcoming wish we stayed longer than one night! Would recommend to anyone! Can't wait to return next year!

Andrea and John go the extra mile to ensure you have the best possible stay. The central location makes this ideal for exploring the Trossachs and further. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, and all with en-suites. The guest lounge is welcoming, and Andrea will provide tea/coffee at no extra charge to guests wishing to use it. Tea/coffee and... More

Excellent visit. Our twin room was fairly spacious with a great bathroom(shower) at the back of the house, so very quiet. Andrea was warm and welcoming and she is a great cook. One of the best breakfasts of our 3 week- trip!
