Strange reception at this hotel, staff just walk past you and ignore you, when they eventually manage to speak to you they appear surprised no one is attending to you - i stood waiting 5 minutes whist they walked backwards and forwards in front of me- think they mistook me for part of the furniture ! We didnot like the look... more

Telephoned the Village Inn to see whether they were dog friendly, 'yes we are!" was the positive response. Thinking of staying overnight in their rooms, we checked that dogs were allowed in their rooms... "yes they are".... Great stuff we thought. So we drove the 2h 30mins to get there, checked into our room, nothing special, looked a bit tired... more

Great location overlooking the truly stunning Loch Long. The Inn was incredibly busy with tourists and the staff seemed overstretched. With the exception of the nice waitress at breakfast, I felt like a bit of an inconvenience. The room was disappointing - very dark and tired with a comfy but incredibly squeaky bed. Forget passion, even turning the pages of... more

We atayed here for a night as a stopover en route from Highlands to Glasgow Airport and had a lovely time. The staff were outstanding, friendly, welcoming and bent over backwards to be of service. In many ways they were doing too much - you could sense how busy they always were. The food was fine, generous in portions and... more

Didn't stay but ate there a couple of times. First thing to say is that I found the male barman quite unfriendly although the rest of the staff made up for his manner. This a very busy pub with a restaurant and one must book. The first night we were shown to our table a little early just after we had ordered... more

Stayed at the Village Inn for one night in March 2009. On arrival experienced a short but courteous welcome. The bar area is great - a good opportunity to watch the passing trade and use the free Wi-Fi access. The garden to the front of the inn offers lovely loch views. A few different house ales were tried by the... more

We used the hotel for an overnight stay on the way to the Isle of Skye. Comfortable and clean rooms. Tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. Good food served. Staff were friendly and helpful. more

I was extremely shocked when I read the previous email and had to add how I found this little haven. We have stayed at the villiage inn several times and each time we have found the staff extremely attentive and friendly. The real ale is well kept, the fire is glorious and the food is superior to some 5 star... more

I recently had a weeks holiday in Arrochar, as this establishment was the nearest to where we were staying decided to visit for a drink, on arrival to the place the barperson was busy but left us waiting at the bar did not have the courtesy to advise he would attend when he could, after 10 minutes wait finally I... more

Booked the Village Inn with 16 friends for what is becoming a tradition - a weekend of diving, walking, eating & drinking in February. This is more of a pub with rooms than a hotel with a bar. All very adequate. We were in the new bit - rooms are quite small but sufficient. Can hear folk walking around upstairs... more
