I largely agree with Tom W (below) in that it is a budget hotel in a lovely location, spoiled by being in need of a major refurb. The double room was small and basic with only one bedside table and a small stool doubling as a table on the other side. It was clean but tatty! Just one curtain was... More

Lovely hotel in a super location. Booked one night and took advantage of dinner for an extra £10 not expecting too much. The meal was first class, all 3 courses consisted of beautiful tasty fresh food well presented. The service was excellent with the waiters being attentive and keen to please but not in your face all the time. You... More

Party of 20 pensioners booked for morning tea and cake. Staff did not know where wheel chair entrance was. They then served 1/4 of group then staff dissappeared for 15 min. Had to serve our self only to find everything cold. No plates, napkins or cutlery had to find staff to get them. Eventually staff arrived back with scones and... More

We booked here because the other places we tried were full. The reviews on Trip Advisor were mixed, so we arrived uncertain of what we would find. Our first experience of the place typified everything about it. We drove up to find plentiful parking with marked bays, each the width of our car, which was fine so long as you... More

The hotel has comfy beds, plenty of hot water, is reasonably clean and the bar food is ok if a bit pub grub like. Yes the rooms are pretty tired, the floorboards creak and the sound insulation is woeful. But it was cheap as chips so no complaints from me.

Just returned from a 6 day coach trip to scotland. This hotel was our base,it,s a 2 star stopover hotel at best. The food was adequate and varied, but the hotel, although in a great location, was very old fashioned and dated. We saw no sign of any cleaners or chambermaids throughout our visit and it showed!! The waiting staff in the restaurant... More

We stayed here over a Bank Holiday weekend ( Sunday & Monday ) booking online at £70 for both nights and a twin room with breakfast which I thought was Great, yes the wallpaper was coming off, squeaking floors above us but everything worked including the central heating if required. Electric kettle was there for coffee & tea and as... More

We stayed here the Saturday night bank holiday weekend. We booked a single room for my mum and a twin for me and my boyfriend. Both rooms were clean and had a loch view, which was lovely. On booking in around 5pm we were told the only dinner sittings left were 6pm and 6.30pm, having eaten on our journey up... More

Enjoyed a last minute overnight stay here over the Bank Holiday weekend. Great deal and nice hotel in lovely location. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had no complaints. Our room had a stunning loch view (when the mist was up!) and yes, could do with some updating - but was clean and very comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend... More

Having just read some of the recent reviews of this hotel we must have stayed somewhere else. We stopped for 2 nights including dinner as part of a group booking. We paid £90 per couple per night for dinner bed and breakfast. Our first impressions were of a lovely location but a very dated hotel. Our room (135) was tiny,... More
