Arrochar is a beautiful place but the same cant be said about the hotel or the hotel manager!! Ive refrained from writing a review before now because the manager frightens me, he always seems to reply in an aggressive manner instead of taking customers comments on board. The manager knows this hotel very run down and is in dire need... More

This hotel is used solely by National Holidays. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment, the bedroom furniture was a mismatch of wood and melamine. The bedroom tv was virtually useless not upgraded to digital.During my stay the restaurant every night had not prepared sufficient quantities of dishes so residents couldn't order what what on the menu. These are just minor issues... Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. The staff was very helpful and polite. Food was very nice, my partner who is a large man found the food sufficient enough for him. Room was comfortable but could do with updating. We didn't expect a 4star like some people do!We are returning in December.

Stayed at this hotel as part of National Express coach trip. The rooms are very basic and in need of refurbishment. The views were fantastic. Couldn't fault the food or the staff. Hotel definitely needs an up grade.

I would have given 5 stars if I could have had a room with a shower..... I was given a shower which fits on the taps on the bath! It was a good one, gave a good shower and didn't fall off the taps but the bathroom was very wet when I had finished showering! Myself and my husband with... More

Negatives first - no lifts in this hotel. This fact ought to be stated before booking so that less mobile guests could be allocated a low floor. No shower - a hand held hose was made available, but this would not connect to the taps. Positives - a stunning setting on the shore of Loch Long. Wonderful staff. All were... More

Many thanks for your comments on trip adviser. We are hoping to get rid of the negatives you have posted here but there is no lift as we only have 3 levels and you enter the rooms on the middle level. We are also looking to install more showers and this process is ongoing. We hope that you can return... More

Just home from a 4 day stay at the Claymore. We travelled with National Coaches. We both agree that it was one of the best National Holidays that we had, and we have travelled with them all over the country for many years. The Claymore is a beautiful building steeped in history a bit dated but what the heck for... More
