I've always wanted to stop at the drovers for years as I have visited on many occasions. This place is something special. The history of the place is fabulous. Enjoy the drovers its a great place, try and get a room in the pub rather than the lodge if ghosts and ghouls are your thing.

My partner and I have been avid patrons of The Drovers for a couple of years. We enjoy the atmosphere, food, history, decor and all round experience. Before you visit you must understand that The Drovers isn't your usual pub, they have frayed carpets, dusty pictures, crooked ceilings and a smell of smoke, but that's the whole point of the... More

Lynne and I love this place. It is totally bonkers. Some of the reviews are really scathing but I think they just don't get the kitsch haggis, tartan and shortbread ironic humour of this establishment. The staff are great. The food is not 5 star; its pub grub but you get lots of it. The bar is child, dog and walking... More

My family and I stayed here Friday and Saturday night with our friends, for my Sisters 40th birthday. What a place!! Great atmosphere and fab food, live music both nights. Friday night, it was audience participation, with tambourines and shakers handed to people sitting in the bar, what a laugh! Saturday full of drinks and dancing! Very warm and welcoming... More

Okay, you're not getting a 5 star, or a 4 or 3 star hotel- but you've read their website (if not, go read their website if you haven't) - but it is clean & comfortable in the rooms and the bar & restaurant just take you back in time - a great experience. What a cracking place to be on... More

We stayed here while doing the WHW and it was just what we expected. The bedroom was fine - large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was pretty awful - poor plumbing and while not unclean as such, certainly dated and tatty. The biggest issue with this hotel are the toilets in the communal areas which are truly awful -... More

A real one off....my wife and I can't drive past without a stop....as you park up outside and and look at the amazing waterfalls in the hills, you can smell the wood burner from inside which draws you in.....full of mysterious creatures and creaky floorboards we love it....highly recommend a visit

The hotel has 300 or so years of history and dust to lend authenticity and charm. It is not a typical hotel with everything trim and neat but is like experiencing life of times long past. Some will find the hotel a little confronting but enjoy it for what it is - a good spot to stay and to enjoy... More

Stopped off on WHW, stayed over road, rooms were clean, comfortable etc..The Drovers is a one off and should be enjoyed, the stuffed animals+decor just add to the intrigue of the place. The Bar is probably the most enjoyable experience, the food, craic and 2 wee fellows doing a turn were awesome, not forgetting the Ale. Bit pricey but hey ho.Will... More
