We stayed here while doing the WHW and it was just what we expected. The bedroom was fine - large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was pretty awful - poor plumbing and while not unclean as such, certainly dated and tatty. The biggest issue with this hotel are the toilets in the communal areas which are truly awful -... More

A real one off....my wife and I can't drive past without a stop....as you park up outside and and look at the amazing waterfalls in the hills, you can smell the wood burner from inside which draws you in.....full of mysterious creatures and creaky floorboards we love it....highly recommend a visit

The hotel has 300 or so years of history and dust to lend authenticity and charm. It is not a typical hotel with everything trim and neat but is like experiencing life of times long past. Some will find the hotel a little confronting but enjoy it for what it is - a good spot to stay and to enjoy... More

Stopped off on WHW, stayed over road, rooms were clean, comfortable etc..The Drovers is a one off and should be enjoyed, the stuffed animals+decor just add to the intrigue of the place. The Bar is probably the most enjoyable experience, the food, craic and 2 wee fellows doing a turn were awesome, not forgetting the Ale. Bit pricey but hey ho.Will... More

I'm surprised to hear some of the other mediocre and even negative reviews. This place was built Well over 315 years ago... i mean, yea, it could use a coat of paint here and their, and maybe a deep cleaning of some of the carpets, but since the majority of their clientele are muddy hikers, what are you gonna do?... This business uses it's scruffy rundown unkept condition as an asset! If you want to pay prices that would normally get you good food in a CLEAN restaurant and, a CLEAN COMFORTABLE room, for this unhygienic tat, then go ahead. These people must be laughing all the way to the bank. My next communication is going to be a complaint... More

Fantastic night at the drovers great food frendly helpful staff and an atmosphere you couldn't buy folk from all around the world and the friendly locals , rooms are verry basic but after the Saturday night and all the shinanigans that make the the drovers wee just needed to crash and the rooms are fine and clean for that Wi... This would have to be one of the most interesting places I have ever stayed. A waystop at the head of Loch Lomond and just off he West Highland Way, this 300-year-old inn has character in spades. The external appearance barely hints at the cornucopia of delights that await inside, jumbles of old furniture, stuffed animals, ancient decorations, not to... More

The Drovers tattyness is legendary so you can't be disappointed by the decor - it would be a disaster if it was ever decorated, but that doesn't really excuse the peeling and dirty paintwork nor the threadbare carpets. We stayed in the rooms across the road which is more like a motel. The room was basic ok but no better.... More
