Okay so my review of the Cannon House Hotel goes like this... Location...Outstanding. You get off the Cal Mac ferry; go to your left for about 5 minutes then you land right on the hotels doorstep. This hotel is very well placed by the harbour for a spot of boat-watching - the Cal-Mac ferries ply from Rothesay to the mainland, and we were rewarded by a lovely view of the steamer, the Waverley, coming into the town. This small hotel is a very good choice on several counts - the rooms and ensuite bathrooms are clean, comfortable and attractive, the owners are pleasant and helpful, the breakfasts are good. A solid Victorian house overlooking the bay with flowers and fresh decor, inside and out. I personally found the bed a little hard and, for a 4* hotel, expected things like the mould in the shower not to have been there.
