Stayed in a superiuor double room with four poster and a view to die for. Friendly wlecome from helpful hostess who advised on where to eat as she was not doing evening meals that night. Room was good size, clean, well furnished and overlooking the sea. The sunset over the sea and the land opposite was the abiding memory of... More

Recently spent two nights in the Bayview while cycling on Bute. Our room faced the sea and had a fantastic view. The room was very spacious and had a four-poster bed. The owners were friendly and helpful and allowed us to store our bikes at the back of the house. Breakfast was nicely cooked and I loved the fresh fruit... More

A well run family owned hotel a short distance from the pier, on the promenade, which is clean, comfortable and welcoming, with homely bedrooms and comfortable beds, as well as a large traditional lounge overlooking the River Clyde. There is a 'board games' cupboard for evenings with the family. The breakfasts are a treat, with the best freshly prepared fruit... More

Downsides are....if you don't gave a car it's a little out of the town and there is no lift. Upsides are.... It's really nice and homely, fab beds, friendly proprietor, beautiful location, plentiful breakfast.

Just had another lovely weekend break in Rothesay staying of course at the Bayview Hotel. This was a family break with my daughter and son in law and my granddaughter aged 8, who loves going to the Bayview Hotel. When we go to Rothesay we always book the Bayview. For your information this is a family run hotel. Well situated... More

Nice location and Irene was very welcoming when we arrived, carried our suitcase up to the 2nd floor. I agree with previous reviewer that the big bay window could have done with something more than just curtains as we overlooked other houses and Gardens. Breakfast was fine with plenty hot coffee. Rooms had lovely bedding but the room itself was... More

Just back from a weekend away staying in the Bayview hotel. Lovely friendly welcome from Irene & Andy, great couple who go the extra mile to make your stay the best possible. Best breakfast with fab poached eggs, well worth a visit.
