Location is first class with splendid views of the bay. The rooms are enormous - more like a suite than a B&B and very tastefully furnished. Excellent breakfast. Didn't get to meet the owners, only the sons who were more than helpful. loved the dogs ! CU soon !

Three of us stayed for the cycling weekend in September and Frank was very accommodating, moving us to a bigger room and setting up an extra bed. He went the extra mile by finding our lost car key and posting it to us which was wonderful and much appreciated - and wouldn't hear of us paying the postage - thanks... More

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the moorings, this was 2nd stay with frank and barbara and i can honestly say they can not do enough for you! A really lovely genuine helpful couple! I know the island quite well from my childhood holidays and the views from the moorings are nothing short than spectacular! Really... More

The Good: Owners very helpful with local information. View was gorgeous and interesting with ferries and sailboats going by. Location is fantastic, a few minutes from Ferry. Free parking. Large rooms with character. The Moorings is a very large Victorian house and although clean it is ready for a makeover. The not so good parts (but not too bad either);... More

Had a seafront view room which was fantastic. Room (apart from view) was fine - everything you would expect, but with a "faded" feel and needing a bit of work done. Proprietor very helpful and breakfast was very enjoyable with excellent service.

Enjoyed our stay at The Moorings. Enjoyed a double room with a view to die for. Clean, comfortable room with everything you need. Cooked breakfast very enjoyable! Will definitely be back! Although decoration was a little tired, this did not have any impact on a most enjoyable stay in a lovely part of the world!

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid-July and enjoyed the sub-tropical weather! The Moorings is a real home from home, with a nice relaxed atmosphere and more like a well kept private house than a bed & breakfast establishment. Breakfasts are substantial, with plenty of variety and Frank is a born & bred Buteman, so is extremely knowledgeable about the... More

First of all the views from our bedroom/lounge window were just AMAZING and it was worth staying in the Moorings for that alone. We had a very large room complete with the added comfort of a lounge area. The room was spotless and really very relaxing it was difficult dragging my husband out to see the island! what with the... Frank and Barbara were friendly, helpful and informative about Bute and all that happens in the local community. We went for a walking weekend and they went 'the extra mile' to help us, providing lifts etc and informing of the best walking routes and places to eat. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable - a real home from home.... More

We loved this B&B. The two young men who are the owners (away) sons looked after us. They were both charming and made us feel so welcome and even carried all our luggage (and we had A LOT) up to the delightful rooms with terrific views. As both Jenny and my husband were sailng in the Fife Regatta, when the... More
