Spent 3 nights in this lovely establishment with my family (2 adults 2 kids). Booked the top floor suite which boasts 2 bedrooms and walk in closet and en suite. Perfect for keeping the kids separate yet close (the only access to kids room was through our bedroom.) Tom and Tina are fantastic hosts and made us feel welcome at... More

We can't think of anywhere else that could have been better to stay in Rothesay! Wonderful situation, clean, comfortable, historic house, lovely proprietors, deer in the garden, views to die for, a breakfast fit for royalty, in other words really, really good! And also, very good value for the price!

We stayed at Ivybank on a road tour of Scotland. The view from the window over the town is lovely - and you can walk down the steps into the township. The town itself is a little sad - it could do with an economic boost. The bed was great, the breakfast OK, but the decor a little dated.

We endorse the other views expressed about Ivybank. Tina and Tom are most welcoming to their lovely home and Tom provides an excellent breakfast which will set you up for the day. Room 4 has great views over the town and the bay. The house is within walking distance of the town centre so restaurants are within easy reach and... More

I stayed here for 2 nights with 4 colleagues for an event on the Isle of Bute. This beautiful house is situated in a commanding position on a hill overlooking the town and port. The welcome was warm and the house is really lovely. The room has all you need, warm and the breakfast full and delicious. A perfect b&b.

There are b&bs and there are B&Bs this is certainly the latter. We chose Ivybank as a base for walking the West Island Way as we were let down by another booking we made. This was to our gain. Our trip organiser was a little unorganised and our dates did not correspond to Tina's, not a problem, she swung into... More

A very comfortable Guest House close to the centre of Rothesay but on an elevated quiet site with great views over the town. Tina and Tom made us very welcome and really know how to start the day with a delicious breakfast. Thank you both for making our brief visit to Bute such a pleasant experience.

Our resent visit to Ivy Bank Villa was our second, and the main reason why we decided to travel all the way from Cape Town to this tiny, picturesque island on the Scottish West Coast, was for the warm hospitality of Tom & Tina, the owners of Ivy Bank Villa.Since our first visit in 2005, they have made immense changes... I've been here before and this will be my only choice of where to stay whenever I visit Rothesay once or twice a year. Tina is just so warm and friendly and Tom is not just an obliging guy, he cooks a mean breakfast too. I have read one or two of the negative reviews and wonder if these people... More

The weather was awful as we arrived at Ivybank Villa but we were soon cheered up when greeted by Tina who showed us our rooms. We were delighted. They were immaculately clean with every amenity you need for a short trip. The breakfasts cooked by Tom were extremely tasty and filling and we didn't need any further food until dinner... More
