Last minute 1 night getaway, absolutely great. Staff were all friendly and efficient from when we arrived until we left. Dining room was closed for a private function so we did experience the issue of getting a table in the bar which was suddenly full with yachties. Staff were great and got us a table quite quickly. Food was excellent... More

We (2 adults, 2 kids) arrived very wet having cycled from Dunoon and were helpfully allowed into our rooms early and shown a store room for bicycles. Rooms were lovely and I liked the fact that they were quirky and individual and not trying to be just like everywhere else. The bar downstairs was lively and busy with a great... More

My party of six, including children, decided to visit this hotel for an evening meal. We were told the previous morning that there would be no need to book for a Thursday night, but we should arrive between 6.30pm and 7pm. This, we did, close to 7pm. On arrival we were told we could order drinks but we would not... More

We're so sorry that your experience with us wasn't great. We based our advice regarding booking for the evening on the levels of food trade we'd had every night over the last couple of weeks - unfortunately the number of people walking through our doors literally doubled last Thursday compared to every other evening and we just had to cope... okay let me start with the positives, the hotel is in an excellent location right beside the sea and sea view rooms clearly have a stunning view. The food in the restaurant was very good as was the real ales and the staff in the restuarant very friendly! Compliments to the chief on the scallops with the puy lentils (fabulous)... More

Many thanks for your review and comments. I'm pleased that you recognised the unique quirkiness of the Kames, which, as you say, sits in a truly special location. I am so sorry though that you were told you could not book a table for dinner. This should not have happened and I cannot apologise enough. It is true that we... More

Booked a one night stay in a superior sea view room. Views were fantastic but room was not what I call superior. Felt like we were in the attic, room 9 up on the second floor. Room just looked old and although floor space was OK because of the eves you had to stoop. Oh and the advertised wifi in... More

Thank you for your feedback - we are so sorry you feel that way. Most people adore Room 9 because of it's size, quirky charm and awesome views. We do realise though that the rooms on the top floor under the eaves are not everyone's cup of tea and try to be very honest & transparent on our website regarding... More

We had arrived on the boat half an hour after lunch service had finished when 9 of us came to the hotel, the lady said she would call the chef and see if he would come back in kindly enough he did. We had a fabulous lunch and staff where more than excellent! We would be more than happily go... More

We chose a larger room facing the loch and am I glad we did. The view from the room was superb and you just wanted to sit there and look. We were the only ones booked in the night we stayed, yet the service was excellent and the lady who helped us with breakfast was lovely and did everything possible... More

Went for a weekend stay and had a really good experience at this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean with interesting and very appropriate furniture. The views from all the windows were stunning!!! The staff were all friendly. All the food was fresh, well cooked and nicely presented with very reasonable, affordable prices. We especially liked the interesting and varied... More
