Decided to spend my birthday away from Glasgow and my brother had told me about Kames on "Scotland's Secret Coast". Stayed away from the Tighnabruich Hotel as the reviews were not particularly positive but the Kames Hotel is a little cracker. Very pretty whitewashed exterior, friendly and helpful staff and fish & chips to write home about - or write... More

This was our first visit to Tighnabruaich - a stunningly beautiful place across from the Isle of Bute. We were here for my brother's wedding, and the reception was held at the hotel. The service was absolutely first rate. The Scottish hospitality was unrivalled! My parents stayed in a beautiful room on the second floor with a grand view of... More

Booked this hotel as a last minute stop off on the way home from Skye. It was a perfect end to our Autumn holiday. We booked a standard room over the phone and were delighted to be upgraded when we checked in. Room 4 is spacious and has fantastic views over the Kyles of Bute. We ate dinner in the... More

Been meaning to post this for ages. My hubsand, son and I visited this hotel on a wet Sunday afternoon in Argyll ( 10th Aug'14 ) whilst on holiday. It was about 2.30pm and having experience of some Argyll eateries where you have no chance of eating without a reservation and certainly not at half past 2 on a Sunday... More

The Kames Hotel is very welcoming and a good place to feed a family. We ate in the room off the bar with good views. The fish & chips were delicious. Even when the staff are busy they are always polite and helpful. Overall it's good value. Recommended.

We used this hotel as a stopover on our "5 Ferries" cycle at the end of August. We were a group of 9 ladies (Isle of Arran Belles) and this trip had been planned for a long time. The weather was wonderful, the views awesome and the hotel was great. We arrived late afternoon, checked in and chose our rooms.... More

Last minute 1 night getaway, absolutely great. Staff were all friendly and efficient from when we arrived until we left. Dining room was closed for a private function so we did experience the issue of getting a table in the bar which was suddenly full with yachties. Staff were great and got us a table quite quickly. Food was excellent... More

We (2 adults, 2 kids) arrived very wet having cycled from Dunoon and were helpfully allowed into our rooms early and shown a store room for bicycles. Rooms were lovely and I liked the fact that they were quirky and individual and not trying to be just like everywhere else. The bar downstairs was lively and busy with a great... More
