Booked by me as oppose to my wife. Always dangerous. Huge success. Stunning location. Beautiful room and food to die for. Prices were very reasonable. Host and hostess very friendly and very professional. Definitely recommend.

A lovely location looking out over the Kyles of Bute this hotel is full of charm and idiosyncratic furnishings - mostly with a yachting theme. Some of the exterior decor is a bit careworn but the inside is warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Much of the furnishing appears to match the age of the building but... More

Our family celebrated a 51 birthday with dinner at the Wellpark Hotel. Michael the Head Chef had prepared the Taster Menu to suit our family which was an absolute taste sensation and had the family guessing the ingredients; which after the meal Michael took time to talk through with the family. The venue is quite beautiful with views over the... More

Walking into the hotel and restaurant, it looked amazing. We were immediately greeted by the bar staff, shown through to the lounge and our drinks orders taken. I was very impressed with the extensive choice of gin on offer. The bartender certainly knew what he was talking about and very friendly. At this point I was very much looking forward... More

Wonderful food and excellent service. I was treated very well indeed as a vegetarian diner, I had the opportunity to speak to the chef who offered and cooked a fantastic, fresh and very tasty meal!! Really enjoyed our visit, will return when we are up visiting Argyll again 😀

Dear keziahawk, we are so pleased you enjoyed your evening with us at Wellpark and particularly that you, as the vegetarian in your party, felt very well looked after. Chef Michal has a lot of experience producing thoroughly tasty, well balanced vegetarian dishes, which is why he enjoys meeting diners to discuss what he has in mind to prepare. Thank you... More

We were in the area for a sailing event and need a recommendation for dinner. When in doubt, ask a local...! The Wellpark Hotel is an old style house hotel. That evening we arrived for dinner and made ourselves comfortable in the bar area, perfect for chilling out. Staff were very friendly and very patient as we had great difficulty... More

My husband and I took our 5 year old granddaughter to Wellpark Hotel for a one night stay as part of a tour around Argyll. The hotel was beautiful and the hosts fantastic and welcoming exceeding my expectations and our granddaughter was treated like a princess.

Dear Shonaid, I am so pleased you all enjoyed your visit to Wellpark for your trip 'down memory lane'. So many people come back for that very reason as Tighanbruaich seems to hold such happy memories. Your granddaughter, Molly is an absolute delight and I am glad she enjoyed herself whilst she was here. I do hope the rest of... More

I was on one of my regular visits to the Cowal Peninsular in April and quite by chance found myself irresistibly drawn in by the menu displayed at the gate, which hinted at wonderful food prepared by the then new chef, Michal. What I got far exceeded my expectations. A wonderfully fragrant shellfish bisque, dreamy hake poached in wine, and... More

Dear PerfidiousAlgernon, I am so pleased you enjoyed your first visit to our restaurant so much that you kept coming back! I must say that hake dish is my very favourite amongst Michal's vast repertoire. It was lovely to see how much you and your friends appreciated the enormous sea food platter, even the 'fussy one' loved his dressed crab... More

Great little hotel. Beer garden overlooking the kyles, quirky bar and lounge, friendly staff... What more can you ask for! Dog friendly as well! Our two dogs were welcome in the bar and lounge. Well worth a visit, we will be back to sample the restaurant as the menu looks fab!

This is a well run small hotel in a wonderful coastal location, overlooking the Isle of Bute. It's a relaxing place, ideal whether you just want to chill or have a base for cycling or walking in Cowal. The building is Victorian with Edwardian extensions and each of the 5 bedrooms is a good size, most with great views across... More
