Lots of guest houses have character, as does Lichen Burn, but this place also has class. Rosemary and Chris are unbelievable hosts, welcoming us with tea and goodies. Archie the dog licked us to death (at our invitation) and we were amazed at the amount of information, menus, tide patterns (Falls of Lora!) they gave us. The house is gorgeous,... more

This was the last B&B stay in our 12 day Scotland trip and it was a wonderful close.Though a little farther than Oban than we earlier assumed, it is a lovely place which is ideal for somebody looking for quiet and calm. Rooms are large and comfortable with ample seating place. But the most wonderful part is the sit-out and... more

Seems a bit neglectful not to have reported our two [out of hopefully many more] visits to Lichen Burn. For those who appreciate, peace, and quiet with attentive service that never intrudes, this has it all. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and squeaky clean. Everything works as you would want it to and breakfasts are excellent. The experience is hugely relaxing... more

Our visit was part pleasure/part work. Quite honestly, this is the best guest house my wife and I have ever been in. Rosemary & Chris are the perfect hosts, offering an excellent facility. The room is spacious and comfortable and in it there is everything a guest will need. On arrival we were greeted at the door and shown our... more

We stayed for 3 nights during a tour of western Scotland and north of England and can honestly say this was the best B&B for comfort, friendliness and all round service without being intrusive. Breakfasts were very good and as commented by a previous correspondent the wine glasses were put to good use! The availability of WiFi was an added... more

We stayed at Lichen Burn for our mini-honeymoon and can highly recommend it. Beautiful house and garden, very friendly and warm welcome! The room was lovely, large, very clean, comfortable and modern and it had everything we needed (including lots of storage space for our wedding presents). Rosemary supplied us with a lot of information on local restaurants and sightseeing... more

What a relaxing week we had with Rosemary and Chris, the room and the breakfast were excelent. Rosemary advised us on the local area, where to eat and what activities we would enjoy, she never failed to give good advise. The wine glasses that were availible in our room hit the nail on the head. Rosmary provided a great setting... more

The accomodation is excellent, modern and spotlessly clean. We were greeted very warmly, tea and cake on arrival was a lovely start. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast very good, plenty of useful information about places to visit provided by Rosemary and Chris. It was very relaxing sitting and enjoying the wildlife. The food at the nearby Taynuitt Hotel also excellent and... more

What a lovely place to stay- we cannot fault it. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the location beautiful, and the service excellent. Rosemary met us with a tray of drinks and cakes (a real bonus in my book) and was very helpful about places to visit, with maps at hand. The accommodation, being two guest rooms opening onto the delightful... more
