We stayed for two nights in mid July. The room was clean and comfortable and nice and warm, with a spacious bathroom. Downstairs, on arrrival, things looked promising. Overdose of "tartanalia" but otherwise clean and tidy. However, the "double room" was absolutely tiny, and directly above the kitchen. There were toe-nail clippings on the furnishing, pubic hair all around the shower cubicle, and what looked and smelled like stale urine IN the wash-basin. We had room 5 which is directly above the public bar. Around 10pm the locals arise from the swamp and create merry hell with the loud jukebox until 2am in the morning. The joint was jumping - as was our beds. Thereafter they hang about outside the bar and sing and smash glasses for another 45 mins. Not conducive to... more
