We had booked this hotel on a Travel zoo voucher as a surprise for my in-laws who had wanted to see Loch Awe again. I checked out the hotels website before booking and was excited to save this as a last stay on our trip and end it with a bang. The website promises the hotel to be better than... More

We stayed for two nights and stayed in room Orchy, like the river, and we loved the faded elegance of the room with its huge marshmallow bed but fab state of the art bathroom in sparkling white and grey slate....beautiful. We overlooked the garden and had a floor to ceiling window that opened into a tiny glass porch. The road up... More

Fifteen miles down a single-track road, you turn a bend to discover, glowing in the late afternoon sun, an elegant and prepossessing manor house. The vision is enchanting, replete with conical turrets and flower-speckled vines climbing slowly over stone. Built in 1834, Ardanaiseig seems to play with the light, turning everything it touches into magic. Most rooms are within the... More

Excellent hotel in a fantastic loch side location. The hotel is set within large grounds, with some short walks to pass the time. The rooms are good, we stayed in the Cuaig, and it was perfect for our stay (had a nice roll top bath). The evening meals and breakfasts were very good, tasty, but somewhat limited if you were... Wonderful location( although remote and at the end if a challenging drive), the house stands majestically with a beautiful view of the lake. The room ( lake view) was excellent and in good repair. The service ranged from excellent ( bar keeper) to inexperienced ( some servers) and poor . We attempted to arrange activities (4) but nothing of what... More

By the time you wend your way down the single-track road to the hotel in its own estate, you are ready for a rest and that is what you will get here. The hotel is set in its own peaceful grounds on the shores of Loch Awe, and the bedroom and public rooms are comfortable with quirky touches. Be prepared... More

This hotel was a quiet by chance find as the hotel we were originally booked to stay in needed condemning. The hotel staff were welcoming and gave us a lovely room overlooking the garden. Although it was summer the weather was very changeable and they had put the heating on for us. Lovely bathroom with fluffy towels and under-floor heating.... More

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. We were a party of 3, 2 adults and 1 teenage. This hotel was a surprise for my family and was worth it. From the moment you enter the hotel you are being treated as a royalty. With all the decoration and furniture in the hotel you are set back a decade... More

We stayed one night in the master suite and the room next to it - both facing the lake. The restaurant staff was excellent and attentive. However, the rooms were poorly maintained, not clean, and had an odd smell. I would not recommend this hotel.

On the plus: jaw-dropping natural beauty, very charming house and beautiful rooms (go for the Loche view), peaceful and quiet, brilliant bar selection, plenty of strolling opportunity, friendly staff, quite good food; fun pre-dinner bar setup What could be improved: all are friendly, but varying levels of staff knowledge- some appear very new and nervous.
