This is now our third trip to the Ardanaiseig hotel only this time we were here to get married. The first trip (June 2012) was part of a wedding shortlist – it turned out to be an extremely short list as we fell in love with the place and, as a result, didn’t bother with any others. The second trip... More

After driving up a 3 mile single track road to the hotel we were greeted by the most wonderful, view. The hotel itself sits on the banks of Loch Awe. There is extensive woodland with several walks. There is a walled garden which unfortunately has been badly neglected. However we were lucky to see two deer grazing there. Take a... More

This quirky hotel is situated at the end of a 10 mile single track road but the journey is worth it. It is far from being the most modern hotel you will have stayed at but it reeks of class and "old money". From the moment the friendly manager, Marcel?, greets you, till you leave for your car you are... More

Wonderful 2 days of beautiful scenery in a secluded hotel. Taking 30 minutes drive up a private road through the extensive grounds of this lovely old hotel. At first we were not sure if the hotel was open as it was very quiet. We were soon welcomed and shown to our lovely room, with king size bed, nice decor and... More

This hotel is worth the effort to get to it. It is in a isolated location on the shores of Loch Awe. After a long drive down windy single track road, you reach the epitome of a charming country hotel. To be fair it looks like its seen better days, but the hotel is full of period decor set in... I was looking for a beautiful Victorian house to stay at on a loch in the Western Highlands - Ardanaiseig was absolutely perfect! Set in stunning grounds on stunning Loch Awe, it is set apart form a lot of other properties we experienced on our trip. It is isolated enough to feel like you have arrived at a destination, with... We found this as a Secret Escapes 2 night B&B offer and liked the look of it so much that we built a week's touring holiday around it. I've never stayed anywhere quite like it. It's utterly charming. Scottish baronial grandeur is immediately tempered by the rows of wellies right inside the door. The decor is an interesting and eclectic... More

My wife and I took a (well earned) mid week break after coming across the hotel on a voucher web site and got the room for £124 per night B&B plus dinner on the first night and stayed for two nights. It was very nice and relaxed with the staff friendly and accommodating, the food was good and the hotel... More

We have stayed at the Ardanaiseig a few times. Our last stay was particularly special as we had the place to ourselves to celebrate our wedding with close family and friends. The hotel is far from perfect. You will find some rooms are dated and not really up to much given the price (but some other, such as Tarvine, my... More
