This was our 2nd visit to Brander Lodge & once again it exceeded our expectations!! We had been travelling for a while so we were looking forward to a comfy bed, great food & catching up with old friends, we got all three. David put us up in the chalet which was stunning! It is completely private with all amenities.... More

Thank you for your kind review, so glad you enjoyed the Chalet it works in well for travelers requiring to stay a few days offering plenty of space, peace and quiet and of course all the facilities of home. Our desire is to add more of these in the future to compliment the hotel itself which is currently closed and... More

Stayed for several days in summer. Food OK but service patronising: when I say" thank you" I don't want to hear "You're welcome" - of course I am, I ordered it and am paying for it ! Accommodation cramped and cell like. No need for alarm call with power station workers getting up at 5 and showering vigorously !

"Dear John oh how I hate to write" So sorry you found the words "You're Welcome" to be patronising, we find it polite I guess it is in the upbringing. I also apologise for the cramped cell like room, (having not experienced I cannot compare) gosh had I known you had served time I would have ensured your stay was... More

Very authentic and distinctive hotel, excellent staff and good customer service. Clean facilities, but had seen better days, at the same time it gives to the place a character. Beautiful and iconic bar/pub area that has been kept in Scottish traditional way.

Thank you for your review. The hotel is currently closed for 5 months for major renovations, much needed and well planned for so I hope you will come back on a return visit and experience the ambiance and improvements created. Regards David More

This is the third time I have stayed here and the staff cannot be faulted they are friendly and could not be more helpful, you are welcomed like old family friends. Set just off the road in well manicured grounds the hotel is still undergoing some refurbishment and looks like it is will be an ongoing process but in no... More

Thank you your comments are much appreciated and so glad you found us and were so happy with everything. Bernadette was the girl on reception and left us at the end of the season to venture into another field of work. Who knows, maybe she will come back to work with us once again in the future. Kind regards David More

Proprietor and staff all very pleasant and welcoming. Room adequate, although a bath would have been better than just a shower. Car parking very easy and hotel easy to find, although it is rather isolated. Gardens quite extensive and would probably be idyllic in Summer. Public rooms a bit run down, although we were told that a major extension/renovation would... More

We stopped here for an overnight stay, en route to our destination Mallaig. Reception was first rate, very welcoming/friendly. Dogs welcome, essential for us. Meal in hotel bar was PERFECT, delicious food. Service excellent. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Cannot fault the hotel as a warm, friendly place to recharge batteries. Wish we could stay longer.

We had a great ground floor room that was clean and comfortable. The restaurant served dinner as well as the included breakfast which was plentiful. The staff is very helpful and cordial. The food is sourced locally so it is as fresh as can be. Located about a 35 minute drive from Inverary so don't miss the castle there. Parts... More
