Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. We stayed for 1 night in room6, it was beautifully decorated and had a fantastic view of the loch. We arrived slightly later than planned due to traffic but we were still able to get an evening meal as we rang Michelle to advise. The food was lovely, we both had fish and chips,... More

Massive gales and drove round from Oban as the ferry to Mull was cancelled for the day and the alternative ferry from Lochaline was still running at the time. Sadly, even after trying twice to land at Fishnish, that ferry was also cancelled for the day so had to make some alternative plans and quickly. Turned out that Strontian Hotel... More

We struck lucky with this last-minute booking. I usually go self-catering believing it to be the easiest option with my dog. There was no compromise on hospitality here. James and Michelle gave us a spacious and comfortable room with a spectacular loch view that changes with the tides. They provided a well-thought menu for us and we were able to... More

We stayed here twice this year, using it as a cycling and hill-walking base. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant just feels as if it is a bunch of friends eating together. The room was comfortable, with a magnificent view across the loch. The value was excellent - a perfect place to wind down in.

We have just returned from 3 nights in this charming place in Scotland. We were welcomed by Michelle who runs it with her husband James, and shown around the public rooms and to our bedroom which had a great view of the loch. There was reliable heating in both the bedroom and the bathroom and the lounge had a wood-burning... More

We visit Strontian once, sometimes twice, a year and always make the Strontian Hotel our local for the week. The food has improved and is welcome after a long drive or day's walking. The locals are friendly and engaging, and in our experience if you take the time to talk to them you can learn so much about the whole... More

Just returned from a week walking in Glen Tarbert, staying at the Strontian Hotel. The first impression is a feeling of warmth and the owners make you very welcome. The Hotel is in a lovely setting, and the view from the dinning room is superb. My room was comfy, warm and spacious. The Bothy bar was great, with the locals joining... More

We stayed at the hotel for three days in September. Michelle and James were very welcoming and gave some useful info on the local area, particularly Mull. We had a room overlooking the loch - fab views. The room was clean and warm and the food in the restaurant was absolutely fine for the price paid. The seating in the... More

Warm welcome from Michelle, and lovely breakfast cooked by James. James entertained us in conversation once our breakfast was finished which was nice to have all the peace and privacy we needed and some nice tips for our upcoming day's travel plans. First thing I did upon waking was grab my camera and take some photos from window in room... More
