we stayed whilst touring on our bike. We arrived a bit early as it was raining but we were greeted with offer of tea and hot bath and a facility to dry our clothes. After recovering we explored the local area and then had a fine supper in the conservatory followed by a drink in bothy bar. Good fresh cooked... More

Ate here last week. Nothing wrong with the welcome, but not particularly welcoming either. The first thing uttered by both the waitress and the barman was "Have you booked?". It was a busy evening, but no welcome first! The little touches that make the difference were missing. The busy barman was helpful, not impolite, but again did not go the... More

I love Scotland. The first time I visited was twenty years ago and I ended up staying in Edinburgh for a year and worked at the Tourist Office. I drove around Scotland and fell in love with the wild openness and dramatic landscape. It was wonderful to return to the Scottish countryside although there were were many more large power... More

We booked into the Strontain Hotel several months ago for 3 nights after reading good reviews on here. We ended up leaving after one! Good points, lovely location, nice lounge and plenty of tourist information, bedroom with loch view, nice breakfast in breakfast room albeit for DIY toast from a very slow toaster. James was a very informative host with... More

Thank you for your promised review. We were genuinely sorry that you decided to leave us after just one day of your three day stay and that we were obviously unable to meet your expectations, despite the "appeasements" we offered and you accepted. We are a small highland hotel that encompasses a village pub - so a Saturday night can... More

My wife and I had a 2 night stay at the beginning of June. From the initial warm welcome from Michelle our stay was excellent. The views over the Loch from our bedroom and the restaurant were fantastic. Breakfast and evening meal were very good and the staff excellent. A great find for a relaxing time and one of the... More

We came here for an after-supper drink having had a disappointing experience at a local hostelry. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was full and busy with guests obviously enjoying an excellent evening meal. The bar was busy, too, but room was found for two disappointed ladies! We enjoyed a single malt and booked a meal for the following evening.... More

We were made to feel very welcome from the outset, the staff were very accommodating and recommended local walks and thing to do. The area is lovely and quiet with a very picturesque drive to the hotel. The food was excellent too! Overall, highly recommended and will definitely revisit!

We got a genuine welcome and a comfortable well-decorated en-suite room. There's a lovely residents lounge to relax in. Good breakfast - especially the black pudding! There's a bar reached through the dining room which can be quiet or very lively. No real ale which is a shame. The dining room has been decorated recently but could probably do with... More

Hi there - Thank you for your feedback. We have had a lot of questions as to why we don't do casked real ale rather than the bottled ales. So we decided certainly for the summer months to also trial a local IPA beer from River Leven Real Ales in Kinlochleven and it's going down a treat. Something we will... More

Location, room, bar and dining room were all extremely good but in a style that's appropriate to the hotel's situation. The sitting room was a gem giving a tranquil and very comfortable retreat. The fitness centre is outside and the choice is yours - what more could you want! Food was excellent with portions of a sensible size. We're just... More
