I stayed 4 nights at the Inn….Didn't want to leave…I was really snug in my room, breakfast was cooked to perfection in the morning and so ample I cut out my lunch. Then in the evening enjoyed the home made fish cakes packed with varieties of fish…the stuffed mushrooms were delicious too…all big portions.. Since I needed to work remote on... More

The Horseshoe Inn in Kilmichael, what can I say! My Mother has been hospitalised with dementia in Lochkilphead, being here by myself, the sadness of seeing my mother in the hospital, the solitude I felt during my stay was made more tollerable by the hospitality and the compassion shown by Ian and his family, of all the places in the world... 30 of us descended on this establishment during the course of a recent Mazda MX5 Rally and we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch which consisted of a choice of 2 soups (Thai & Vegetable), a superb and plentiful supply of various of sandwiches. Followed by a marvelous cup of Coffee. Al reasonably priced - served with charm & efficiency. The... More

First of all, I have to say that I haven't eaten, drank or stayed in the Horseshoe Inn - so why am I reviewing it you may ask? Well, we did try to eat there one evening recently, but found that for some reason we had become completely invisible to (a lady I now believe to be) the owner. She... More

As a traveler stopping through on business the inn was ideal. The room was clean spacious and good facilities. The specials board had plenty of choices had homemade fish cakes which were spot on, beer was cold and the landlords were friendly. I had the full breakfast in the morning was just what I needed for the day ahead have... More

Visited this inn and we were greeted with friendly staff who showed us to our rooms. The rooms were clean great facilities and family friendly. The food selection was fantastic as was the portion size and they choice for kids was good. Nice selection on ales and a large selection of whiskeys if you like them. We throughly enjoyed our... We expected more from this small Inn. In the first place we struggled to find it! The address and directions were unclear and we thought it was within the town. Although we had a private bathroom, it was not en-suite, with the bathroom right at the top of the stairs - a bit uncomfortable. The doors are extremely noisy to... More

This is a small Inn, several miles outside Lochgilphead. The rooms are small but clean and cosy, although you could believe you are drunk when walking in them as the floors slant in different directions. There is a reasonable TV reception and Wifi. The staff are friendly and there are two bars to choose from. The Menu is limited, but... More

Travelled to the Horsehoe Inn this weekend with friends and had a blast. Lovely homely, friendly pub with roaring fire. Staff and locals very welcoming. Meals and banter were great. Breakfast was brilliant, just the thing to set you on your way. Thanks to Ian and Roseanne for their hospitallity. Will definately be back.
