After driving all evening in hopes of making it to Fort Augustus my eyes were just too droopy to continue. I found the Trailrace and with no reservations they had a room. The office to the Inn was closed and I had to speak to the person working the bar. They helped me right away and I had a room... More

We had an excellent stay at this bed and breakfast pub. An warm welcome, clean room with ensuite. Full cooked breakfast was very good the next morning, parking is outside the front of the pub. The surrounding countryside is so breathtaking, so it is worth the extra drive to this property just to see the sites.

Stayed at the Tailrace Inn 4 times now while passing through kinlochleven on the West Highland Way, Staff are extremely helpful and friendly , the breakfast is second to none , full Scottish breakfast is just what you need before the 14.5 mile walk to Fort WIlliam , and most enjoyable , the rooms are spotlessly clean and luxurious ,... 3 of us pre-booked to stay here when walking the WHW. A simple local pub with rooms which were reasonably clean and certainly comfortable. It did the job for us and the food (dinner and breakfast) was simple, good, and sensibly priced. But they do need get some decent beer!

Only popped in for coffees etc, after walking west highland way from just outside fort William. Very quiet when we arrived, but very well welcomed all the same. Nice mug of coffee, shame we couldn't stay and try the menu.

Myself, husband and two friends from down south arrived on Saturday 6 October 5ish, no reception, were given keys at bar. Found own rooms then went down to bar for drink. Although real ales were advertised they did not have any on tap and only one type bottled. Disappointing for the men. We decided not to eat there and went... More

Perfect place to stay after a long wet day of walking on the West Highland Way. They had a drying room for our wet boots and clothes. We were booked here for two nights, getting a taxi here from Kinghouse, then back there the next morning to start walking. It was great not to have to walk some place for... More

OH and I have visited Tailrace in the past, and have always been met by a warm welcome. No exception on this visit! This time we decided to give their food a try...good old fashioned fish and chips for lunch! Where do I start..! Warm plate arrived with a generous portion of chips and garden peas....and a very large, delicious... More

Stayed here for one night since we normally pass by it whilst walking and this time decided on an overnight stay. We had guests with us this time and chose to have dinner there, the food was excellent! The rooms though are dated and beds are uncomfortable, the shower wasn't great either - I was a little bit disappointed with... More

We travelled from Kent, stopping off at Harrowgate on the way to the Inn. Staff were very friendly and the meals were delicious. This place is more like a social club for the locals and unfortunateyl, we experienced some foul mouthed ones who thought they owned the place! The staff weren't able to manage them, thankfully they left after half... More
