Just had a brilliant weekend here. We were booked in at another campsite and were let down at short notice! In stepped the team at MotoGoLoco & Mark at MacDonald Hotel. Mark managed to sort out space for all 10 of us on the campsite and saved our weekend away. We rolled up early evening and Mark was waiting for... More

We have just stayed for one night in one of the fantastic cabins on offer with our chocolate Labrador. The views when we arrived were unbelievable. We were thrilled that the cabins were dog friendly and it had lots of room with comfortable beds provided. The heater, midge protected windows and electric trap were also a welcomed addition to the... More

Stopped here the night before the last stage of the West Highland Way. The Hotel is worn but comfortable and has a great location at start of the last WHW stage. We received a genuinely warm welcome from Mark and other staff were excellent too. The breakfast lady was friendly, fun and efficient. Breakfast was very good and the evening... More

We stayed here when my husband and friend were doing West Highland Way on mountain bikes. There's new owners, who have taken feedback from previous guests and trying to make changes. Initially we had planned to leave before breakfast was due to be served, but they highlighted this had been commented on by guests under previous owners, so they started... More

We stayed here in June 2014 while running the West Highland Way. The hotel is old and the room was tired. The curtains were thin so light came streaming in from sunrise at 5am. We had a very tasty dinner in the restaurant - I'd recommend the burger with haggis. Unfortunately breakfast was a great letdown. Not only did they... More

I haven't been a guest at the hotel myself, but as the (anxious) mother of a young West Highland Way walker I found the staff in the hotel very helpful in organising accommodation from a distance at the last minute, as well as reassuring in manner. They were also apparently really nice to our boys when they eventually arrived. My... More

We stayed in the Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. Everything is clean, but the bathroom was a bit outdated which includes the typical wriggling around, till the water of the shower has the right temperature. The restaurant serves good food, but for staying a week the range is too small and when you like your crumble sweet, do... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, we really enjoy it when tour groups come and stay with us as we can build a rapport over the week. The menu choices for tour groups are often more limited than our a la carte menu to enable the chefs to deliver all the meals at once,... More

We stayed here because our BB was overbooked and it was quite expensive at £90 for the room. The staff were very friendly and dinner was quite good but breakfast was only fair with no fresh fruit, just tinned oranges and grapefruit - NOT what you expect at this price.

Stayed here while doing the west highland way. We had a triple room with 3 single beds and loads of room. Bright airy and clean. Shower was dire and didn't work properly but after a day walking the bath and never ending supply of hot water was very welcome.food was very pub food ok but nothing special. best bit was... More

The MacDonald Hotel and Cabins in Kinlochleven is at the head of Loch Leven with breathtaking views. Ideally situated for those walking the West Highland Way, along with other walks in the area. Mark and I took the hotel over on 17th January 2014 and appreciate all of the reviews on Tripadvisor, but look forward to receiving our own. We have seen the feedback on Breakfast times and this will be addressed! Thanks and we look forward to welcoming you. Helen & Mark ... more   less
