Excellent place to stop on the way to Fort William. I got a great welcome from Patrick and he was very helpful. The facilities were a lot better than I expected from a hostel. My pod was exactly what I needed after the trek from Inveroran.

Stayed with a party of walkers in Blackwater and sister hostel. Always welcoming stopover on West Highland Way. Great bunkhouse facilities. Helpful advice always available on local facilities. Stayed a number of times here and have always been impressed by the facilities and the welcome from Callum and the boys.

Very friendly staff and camping pod was great. Bins collected very early so very noisy and everyone else there was making an early start so we were woken up by 6:30/7 which was a pain. Nothing in the town itself which is not really worth a visit but we stopped and had breakfast by the side of the Loch in... More

I was unsure about a Glamping holiday to start with but I have to say the Pod was very comfortable and warm. Bed was really comfortable. Cutlery and Crockery could be borrowed from the Hostel building which was well stocked. Shower and toilet block very clean- only down side for me was not having a toilet in the pod. I... More

Very spartan and a bit like being in prison – I know it's a bunkhouse but didn't make for a very enjoyable experience. Spend the extra and go to a nice B&B instead. Also, the pricing was really confusing and the rooms are all equally basic.

One of the better bunk house options along the WHW route. Clean and comfortable rooms with en suite facilities and tv. A good drying room and big communal kitchen with lounge area and tv. At £70 for a four bed room you will not get better value for money.

I went to catch up with some friends who were doing WHW, and were booked into here into one of the mega lodges. After having a look round and seeing how spacious they were, decided I would stop over as they had a spare bed. Maybe the glorious weather may have helped my decision to stop over, or the the... Stayed at the Blackwater Hostel on Saturday night (11th). Friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond to accommodate our group with our various requests (booking taxi's, use of hairdryer and towels). We used the facilities to make our own tea and they had everything you could need. Comfy and spacious lounge area and the rooms were cosy with... More

Blackwater Hostel was a fantastic spot for us to finish our quick trip around Scotland. We stayed in one of the minilodges which sleeps 2 people (twin beds). For a small space it has a lot in it and was just what we needed for our stay. We also had use of the hostel kitchen and facilities - all of... More

I have been staying at this hostel regularly since it opened in 1999. Cannot wait to go back again. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. Good clean facilities all round. Good showers and kitchen with plenty fridge space.
