Our party occupied three rooms for three nights in the middle of October. We were a bit surprised at how long it took to get to the hotel, at the end of 10 miles of single track road, 25 minutes from the A85 Oban to Crianlarich road. First impressions were of the dark, forbidding rear entrance, and some peeling paintwork... more

I wanted to write a review for this very special hotel. I was prompted to do so after reading a couple of negative comments on this site. My husband and I have stayed at the Ardanaiseig Hotel a number of times over recent years and I can only say, from some of the comments seen, that some of the guests... more

A stunning hotel located in a breathtaking location. The room was great with a fantastic view over the loch. The public rooms were elegant and comfortable. We were met with a very warm welcome. The manager himself helped us with our luggage. Despite what some other reviewers have said, we found the staff helpful and friendly. Unlike one or two... more

My husband and I love Ardanaiseig - we have been 6 times over the last 5 years. The hotel and grounds are magical - we totally get what its all about. The food is outstanding - better that some M star resturants we have visited. The staff are not in your face but always behind the scenes to help in... more

To summarise: 1. Service appalling. When we arrived, we were asked whether we wanted to book a table for dinner, so we asked to see the (set) menu . We were told the menu would not be available until 6.30 p.m. and no, they did not have a sample menu. However, at 6.30, the menu was still not available. After... more

At the Ardanaiseig we take all comments good and bad extremely seriously, and would like to apologize for any obvious failings, and will of course investigate and learn from them. However it might be useful to point out that in all our literature and on our website we quite clearly state that we are in a remote location, in fact...

Stayed here for several days in October 2009. In my opinion, this is simply not a luxury hotel; it is a (grossly) overpriced charade. Specifics are almost too numerous to mention but key points are: 1) Service - is unfriendly, inept and, at times, simply rude. For example at check-in, receptionist gave distinct impression we were a intrusion to her... more

This is a stunning hotel located in a stunning location. The rooms are great and much better than expected given some of the reviews. Strangely for a hotel in this league not all of the rooms have showers. I had to make do with a bath (which is difficult as I have a spinal injury). There were no grab rails... more

this is my first tripadvisor review, being prompted by the experience at ardanaiseig. from booking to welcome to the location to the comfort of the public rooms and bedrooms and especically the food - deserving of a michelin star over many restaurants i have eaten in that possess one - to the friendliness and professionalism of the staff this hotel... more

First impressions are excellent: a stunning building in a breathtakingly secluded location by a loch; the drawing room / lounge is also very elegant with comfortable sofas and great views over the loch. However, the rest of the house felt quite shabby in comparison. Our bedroom was basic, the paintwork was shoddy and there was a tissue holding a window... more

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our Honeymoon on the West coast of Scotland. Our room (Kilchurn) was lovely with 4 poster, very spacious and beautifully furnished. The rest of the hotel was also very nice particularly the drawing room where you can have drinks or coffee before/after your evening meal. This room was beautifully furnished... more
