Set on Loch Awe, Taychreggan was everything we would wish for. The Junior suite had seating by the window with a view across the loch - what a romantic setting. We stayed for two nights and despite the weather, thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The setting was lovely, the traditional furnishings in the comfortable lounge charming, the dining room setting contemporary... More

Just back from a lovely night away at this hotel set in the most picturesque location. Star - All staff members were both helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. Star - After some consideration we booked a table at the hotel's restaurant where the food was absolutely magnificent. My husband can be a very picky eater but... More

My fiancé treated me to a romantic getaway this Valentines Day, to celebrate our recent engagement. We had booked the Sonachon (master) suite, but due to a leak somewhere, this room had no hot water on the days preceding our trip. Nathalie called us to advise of this and offered us another room if it wasn't fixed in time for... More

The chef at Taychreggan received The Rising Chef of the Year award so we're expecting to be Wowed! Chef Ondrej delivered. We savoured every delicious morsel of the 5 course (which was actually a 7 course if you count the canapés and pre dessert..) the final cheese dish was excessive so we couldn't eat it all. The service was excellent... More

We stayed here on Hogmanay and the 1st and had a fabulous time. We were made to feel extremely welcome and , although we didn't get the room we booked due to problems with a boiler, our room was fine. Don't agree at all with the reviewer who said that the beds weren't made properly. Food was of an outstanding... More

We stayed at the hotel for the three-night Hogmanay package and, as mentioned by other reviewers, the food was excellent. What a shame it was that the brilliant chef was let down by the short-sighted and careless management. On arrival, we were not given the loch view room we had booked and received no explanation for this. There is no... More

We had booked a room for New Year's Eve my wife and I and the reservation got confirmed well. When we got closer to the date, I dropped them an email to book a table at the restaurant. At that point and after several email exchanges with poor/unclear communications my hotel reservation was cancelled and little help offered to find... More

We went to Taycreggan for the 3 night New Years package, we had enjoyed staying at the hotel a few years ago and thought it would be wonderful to stay here for New Year. When we walked into the hotel we noted that there seemed to be a problem with staff. The first evening was fine but from there it... More

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback of your stay, and im so glad you enjoyed the food and good company at the hotel over the Hogmanay. You are quite right we where understaffed due to 2 staff members who let us down and decided not to return after their Christmas break, unfortunately we live in an... More

Amazing 2 night stay - My wife has Gluten and Dairy intolerance and yet the chef served a special 5 course menu for her that was just as tasty as a "normal" one. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

We came across this hotel a couple of years ago while exploring some of the back roads within the Oban area and loved it's somewhat remote loch side location which on a sunny winter's afternoon was stunningly beautiful. Having spent Sunday night at the hotel we can confirm that our experience exceeded our expectations. Yes, it could do with more... More
