I'm not reviewing the hotel here, just the restaurant. When we first check into the hotel and we were shown the menu, a five course taster, a little bell rang inside me saying, go somewhere else! Everything about the hotel screams old, stuffy and worn down. A fair assumption would be that the food would be the same but it's... More

I took my partner to Taychreggan as I thought it would be the perfect place to propose to her and it didn't disappoint! Views of the Loch are fantastic and the hotel has a lovely tranquil atmosphere that is complemented by the shabby chic traditional Scottish decorations and the friendly staff who eager to help. Food was lovely and there... More

On the whole a great and memorable stay.... The positives: I had requested an upgrade to a loch view room and had it confirmed but when we arrived ...it wasn't! However, this was quickly rectified and the room we had was fabulous. The staff were all lovely, polite, engaging and eager to please. The location was idyllic. The negatives:The toilet seat... More

My husband and I stayed for 1 night at this property with 2 other couples as part of my husband's 40th birthday trip. We will never forget this stay because of the amazing staff (all 3 of them who did everything it appears!) who really went out of their way for us. The grounds are lovely - with a beautiful... More

We booked two rooms at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and with the prospect of possibly having an evening meal here. After checking in we were shown our rooms upstairs, up two flights of stairs and along a hallway. After asking was there a lift available the reply was "sorry they didn't have lifts 300 years ago".... More

Family were staying at this venue and invited us for a meal. It was a delight to eat. Clearly prepared by people who cared deeply about food. The courses were small and the only variations were on the vegetarian menu which was as good as the main menu. However, everything was prepared with great care. Small amuse bouche to put... More

Taychreggan was one of the favorite stays of our recent trip. It has a beautiful, quiet setting Loch Awe. The hotel is large enough for tour groups however when we stayed it appeared to be all couples and small groups. The rooms are supremely large--ours even had a walk-in closet with dressing table, and a table with 2 little chairs... More

This hotel has fantastic character and an amazing views over Loch Awe, it is secluded and an ideal romantic getaway. What can I say about the food, I have eaten in michelin starred restaurants that are not as good as this! Each course was delicious, well thought through and presented beautifully. The food had a tranditional element with a modern... More

I like the quirky so I loved this hotel. It's not the Hilton, it's clearly been organically decorated over time and it's a bit shabby around the edges. Giant stuffed fish and mini decanters of sherry kind of sum up this hotel. We were attending a wedding closeby so we only ate breakfast here. I can honestly say on both... More

Lovely hotel. Off the beaten track. Escapism, relaxation and a touch of luxury. Friendly, helpful staff. Amazing food. Really comfy bed and wonderful, large, luxurious bathroom. The perfect place to recharge your batteries.
