As we went the first week in February, we were expecting it to be quiet but we were literally the only people there! It was quite a unique experience but the place and the views were breathtaking. There's basically nothing near so I'd recommend eating in the restaurant- Just make sure to give them sufficient notice! The set menu was... More

My wife and I stayed at Taychreggan Hotel for our 25th Wedding anniversary and it was MAGICAL. This was out first time in Scotland (visiting from the US). Fiona and her staff made sure everything was perfect. Stunning views of Loch Awe. The grounds were perfect to walk and round or sit by the Loch and enjoy the serenity. Our... More

Booked this hotel back in June 2015 and was really looking forward to the break. When we arrived we found out that a number of guests had cancelled due to weather conditions in other parts of the country. Initially disappointing this did not last, as even though it was quieter than it would have been, the hotel, the staff, the... More

Because of the weather and the flooding in northern England and parts of Scotland, many couples did not attempt the journey or were affected by the flooding at home. We were not going to miss this for anything. This left 4 couples and a large local family to see in the New Year. Willie The Gillie was the entertainment for evening/morning... More

Very disappointed in this hotel. Shabby, old, needs lots of TLC Room was cold when we arrived, needed a heater put in the room to warm it up. It was as if we weren't expected. Shower didn't work, no atmosphere in the dinning room or halls, even though we had booked for new year celebrations . We only stopped the... More

Managed to book this fabulous place at short notice. What a jewel right on the shores of loch awe. The room was great the staff very attentive and the food was simply outstanding. Everyone from waiting staff to manager could not do enough for us. The hotel was not full but we were looked after as you should be with... More

A beautiful, remote location for a weekend away. Personal (but not intrusive) service. All the rooms are gorgeous and the restaurant food is high quality. We took up a Winter offer that included dinner. Although the weather was awful, the hotel was cosy. A little disappointed that the fire wasn't lit (an issue with logs?) and the Christmas tree not... We stayed at the Taychreggan hotel in a loch facing room. Granted the hotel/building is a little tired, and could do with some tlc, but the service is excellent. The chef created a menu for my dietary requirements, which was tasteful and well presented. It was very quiet, as out of season and midweek. But that made it all the... More

We had a super 2 night stay here to celebrate my husbands birthday. Taychreggan is in a stunning location right on the waters edge, very tranquil and exactly what we were looking for after a busy summer season in our own hotel. Our room was excellent and we were allowed to take our beagle, which, given the location with amazing... More

Very spooky and remote. One track road to destination. There was only 1 staff on duty when we got there. The chef and bartender came at 6. They were extremely rude talked about us loud enough for us to hear. The food had no choices it was their 5 course menu and when we asked if could have a lighter... More
