Upon our arrival at The Carradale "Hotel" we were slightly baffled by how to get in... The 'entrance' turned out to be through the restaurant at the back disturbing diners as they ate. Once in, we eventually found a member of staff who took us to our room but provided us with no information whatsoever. The door to our room... More

I would like to address the points you make in your review as I feel they are unjust and do not tell the whole story. The hotel entrance is through a direct route in our large conservatory which is also used for dinning. This has been the entrance to the hotel for well over 100 years and has access to... More

We were not staying at the hotel but popped in for an early evening meal. Staff were friendly. However the food was poor. Batter on the haddock was soft and greasy. The chicken curry was fair but the naan bread was stale. Not good value for money.

We (a hiking group of 5 male around 30 years) stayed in this hotel for one night. The rooms of the others were good but unlucky me I got a room directly above the pub (noisy). I guess because of this the room is usually not used. Why I guess so? Spiders were in my bed, plaster was laying everywhere... More

Recently stayed in the Carradel to attend a wedding nearby. Check in was flawless and welcoming which included an overview of the local area. Room was ideal, bright, spacious and an amazing view. The staff were fab, special thansk to Andy and Tom, everyone went out of their way to look after you. The bar in the Carradale is the... More

We stayed at the Carradale Hotel about three weeks ago. The staff was friendly, efficient and the service was good. The breakfast was very good - Morag is a good cook. The hotel is kept clean and the dining room and lounge areas are fairly new and look in good shape. In my opinion, the guest rooms need to be... More

We found ourselves in Carradale on a Tuesday evening and happened upon this hilltop hotel. Despite the unprepossessing exterior, the four of us were tempted by the dinner menu posted on the gate outside and were shown to a table in the sunny conservatory. The service was welcoming, friendly and efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed our shared vegetarian starter and... More

I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt that the service and the food here deserved it. We rang last minute and were welcomed, albeit late, last orders were 8.30pm, we screamed in at 8.25pm all flustered but no one was bothered. The owners son was very welcoming and we were never rushed. The children (8 & 10yrs) were both... More

I have never visited this hotel without having to search out staff on arrival. Sometimes this can take several minutes and is far from welcoming. We had a reasonable lunch which everyone enjoyed, although my potatoes were all bad and should never have left the kitchen. Reheats I suspect. Also, the poached egg with the smoked haddock was hard rather... More

Wife and I were staying in the area and decided to dine here on a saturday night. Despite the fact there was a large party we were seated in the bar area away from the main party and the service wad fast and efficient. My only grumble was the batter on the haddock was quite greasy but this could just... More

I was in Carradale for business. Marcus and his team run a wonderfully Scottish hotel. I really enjoyed it, and its quirkiness. I slept really well. The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the hotel, the location and staff were kind.
