We stayed at The Grey Gull in for 1 night as we wanted to take a boat trip out to see the whirlpool at Corryvreckan. We took advantage of a special offer advertised on their website which was £110 per couple for dinner, bed and breakfast. The offer should only be available at weekends but as they were quiet that... more

The location of this Inn is fantastic. It has wonderful uninterrupted views over the loch. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival to the time of our departure. We particularly enjoyed having late afternoon drinks "al fresco" in the little garden overlooking the loch. The rooms were basic but adequate for our... more

Stayed here in March and enjoyed the lovely location. The new owner has made great changes and the the whole effect is very welcoming. The food was really good and the price was excellent. This is a brilliant place to stay in Argyll and will suit all visitors to the area. more

I stayed at this location whilst traveling on business. I was pleasantly welcomed by the friendly staff and owner. Enjoying good food and wine surrounded by the fabulous view helped to make this a perfect overnight stop. more

Loved the Grey Gull. The common area was very comfortable with a view of the Loch. The restaurant is fabulous. We expected to eat at different places in town, but every night we couldn't resist eating at the hotel. The staff are really nice, and asked us every morning what we felt like having for breakfast. The room we stayed... more

First the good points : great view of the loch from my room, good breakfast. The bad points however outweighed these : the room was not terribly clean, there was no hot water in the morning (I ran the shower for around 15 minutes and managed to get a tepid shower), and the management seemed distinctly lacking in welcome. I... more

A lovely hotel on the ground floor - but as you go higher up everything gets a little grim. My father had a beautiful room on the ground floor. Our room was in the Attic. First room we were given reeked of smoke, and had no way of opening the windows. After complaining we were moved to another attic room.... more

Stayed for one night on business. I had single occupancy of double room for £53 B&B although when I booked I was told I would get a family room (as my colleague did) because that's all they had left - but that didn't really matter. I had read some bad reports about this hotel so I was a bit apprehensive... more

This has been my first bad experience of accommodation in Scotland. Given the price demanded for bed & breakfast, one would be justified in expecting a reasonable level of quality. Unfortunately the experience was at the lower end of budget accommodation. Furnishings were scruffy and basic, decorations unfinished, some of the bedding looked like it could do with a wash,... more

This property was comfortable but rooms were very basic - i thought £80 for a double room at this time of year was pretty expensive. The room was quite spacious - very like the idea of travel lodge rooms and the ensuite was clean. The bed linen in the room looked very 'washed in' and one of the chairs in... more
