Was out for a family meal. an excellent meal was served. Warm welcome when we arrived. Helpful and friendly service. Lovely log fire giving a warm glow to the suroundings. Will most certainly make a return visit. A very good value evening out

Loaded with charm, warmest of welcomes and friendly staff. Nothing missing from this tradional Scottish. Unfortunately my company have a low budget for overnight stays so I often find it difficult to have a meal within it, pleased to say this wasn't a problem. Only a basic shop in the village, several take aways in nearby Ellon. The road to... More

I stayed here recently on a business trip to Dyce in Aberdeenshire, and although it is a wee bit of a drive, it was probably far easier to get to here across the hill than it would be to get back into the city. (Especially if you are trying to get there anytime after 4pm) The welcome was faultless, lovely... More

Was a step back in time for me as I began my working career as a comis chef here way back in 1974 big changes since then . was difficult to imagine but it did register eventually the old layout. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were very friendly.breakfast faultless and looking out onto the ythan estuary beautiful brought... More

We stayed at the Udny Arms Hotel for two nights recently as a base from which to tour the surrounding area. It proved to be an excellent choice - clean, friendly and full of olde world charm and quirkiness. The staff (particularly Tracey) could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The food though traditional was of a high standard... More

We stopped here on our way to exploring Aberdeenshire's golf courses and we were overall satisfied with this solution. This is not a 5-stars city-hotel! anyone expecting a similar standard or service will be disappointed. Still, I would certainly recommend this place. Making sure one knows what to expect! This is a nice, old-fashioned, family-run, warm and with a typical... More

In 1980 we dined and stayed at The Udny Arms Hotel . It was a foodies haven and a relatively well kept secret. The brown bread ice cream was legendary! Nostalgia drew us back last week but I wish it hadn't . What a shame and waste of potential. We had quite the worst lunch ever and could not finish... More

Don't stay here. Room is about 75 years out of date. Enamel was off the bath in the disgraceful bathroom, towel rail was also off the wall and left on the floor. Food was rubbish Get real- it's 2014 for goodness sake Udny Arms!!

Our first ever visit to this hotel and it is understood that the place has been recently refurbished. The food and choice from the menu were very good, the haddock and real home made chips were some of the best we have ever had. The portions were also excellent. To follow we had sticky toffee pudding, excellent choice. The service... More

I needed a quick one night stop, late rooms provided me with the Udny Arms, what a change here, the new owners have transformed the hotel , the rooms are all newly decorated, as are the public areas, a nice warm welcome even though we were late arriving, and in the morning a huge breakfast to set us up for...
