Calling this is a bunkhouse is a misnomer; it is the cleanest, comfiest, best equipped bunkhouse I've been in. It is very much like a comfy alpine lodge inside. Good drying room, very well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds and towels (wow), clean showers and toilets, all well stocked. No hesitation in giving bunkhouse10/10. You can also grab breakfast in... I´m a little hesitant about writing this - It feels like I would like to keep the place as a secret, but at the same time I would like everybody to know how excellent this place really was! The Hunting lodge is very cosy, familiar, personal and still very professional - with exceptionally good service and very good food! We... More

Not a five star hotel but a wonderful spot in a beautiful area. Loved the feel of the place. The whisky bar is great and everyone was pleasant. The accompanying restaurant is wonderful for both breakfast and dinner..

Log cabins were ideal for a group to use as a base for mountain biking, we hired two for nine people. Enough room for everyone, and the la z boy sofas.....just great. The food in the hotel was second to none...it all made for a very good three days, cheers!

We stayed a single night in The Braemar Lodge on the final night of our driving tour of The Highlands. Unfortunately we got delayed in the Cairngorms and arrived at the hotel much later than we had planned well after 10:00PM. Fortunately the proprietor did not seem to mind staying up for us which was a great relief. The location... More

I stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding, and was very pleased with the hotel. I found the staff friendly, welcoming & helpful. I was also grateful that my bike could be locked up in their shed. I stayed in the single room which was fine, and a little larger than other single rooms I have stayed in. I... More

Stayed overnight in the "superior room" with four poster bed, room 2. Friendly staff. The room is clean and comfortable and all basic needs catered for, however, as we had spent the previous night in the Malmaison in Aberdeen it was a little disappointing especially as the room rate was more expensive! The bathroom is extremely small, and a bit... More

After staying here on the 18th and 19th of April 2014, we left feeling relaxed after staying in one of the log cabins for two nights. We did not eat in the hotel so we can't comment on that but the cabin was spot on for what we needed. Clean and tidy, the only thing that was missing was a... More

Booked in with a few hiccups, shown to cabin upon arrival by a flustered host who did not show us how to work everything. Had no hot water from either kitchen or bathroom taps which were difficult to turn on. Bed was as hard as the floor, replacement "new" mattress was also far too hard, work with a sore back... More

Great location right near the main centre of Braemar. Log cabin was a bit tired. Hot water tap was hard to turn off, shower flooded, old towels, crowded parking but apart from that it was clean and warm and nice and quiet. Restaurant food was great. Would recommend for sure. Ideal location for all the sites. Make sure you take... More
