We have just returned from a 4 day stay on a Shearings all inclusive break. Great value for money. Food good, staff very polite and friendly. Hello to Sam the chef who does a great job, but come on Shearings how about potato scones instead of hash browns with breakfast. Decor a bit tired in the bathroom but clean and plenty... more

Hotel very clean and warm, staff efficient and helpfull, dining room staff run off their feet but smiled all the time. Bathroom in need of updating nowhere to dry damp towels and tiles cracked but functioned OK. The food was mass produced with very small portions and varied from meal to meal some meals were very tasty and others extremely... more

We are just back from a great stay at the Invercauld Arms. It is a WAShearings Hotel which means it is used mainly for coach tours. They do let out rooms for self drive breaks also, depending on availability. The mainly coach tour clientle are of ' a certain age', meaning we were by far the youngest at the hotel... more

Unlike other reviewers, we must have been unlucky in our room allocation. The very small room we were given was at the very top of the building with the smallest window that I can ever recall in a hotel. Strangely the weather was quite pleasant, but because of the small window, and even with it wide open, the room was... more

Myself and my partner went for a romantic weekend to the Invercauld Arms at Braemar from 30th March to 1st April through Shearings self drive. We arrived at the picturesque village of Braemar and booked into the Invercauld Arms, I booked a scenic room at one of the previous review recommendations and i would also recommend you pay the bit... more

Stayed at the Invercauld Arms Hotel for a long weekend in February 07. Once we had checked in we were amazed the room was massive, with a four poster bed, large 3 seater sofa, 2 arm chairs, large coffee table, dressing table, bedside cabinets, with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, colour TV, and large wardrobe. The bathroom was also... more

We spent last weekend on Shearings 3 night half board break at this hotel. Original plan was to go skiing and there was definitely plenty of snow - fabulous location for Glenshee. The hotel was a little shabby but very clean and not too dated. Spectacular building. We paid extra for a scenic view and got an enormous room with... more

We have recently spent a three night self-drive weekend break at the Shearings owned Invercauld Arms Hotel Braemar. This hotel, as befits what was originally an 18th century castle, is steeped in an "Olde Worlde" atmosphere. Long corridors, staircases, large comfortable rooms and an open caged lift, which a Hollywood film producer from the 40's would have died for. Friendly... more

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as a birthday surprise for my partners mother. The staff are super, the rooms comfortable ( if a little worse for wear) and the food was reasonably good. The restaurant staff were excellent and extremely helpful in springing the birthday cake and bouquet of flowers on the birthday girl. Only complaint would be... more
