Stayed two nights with three friends, in order to walk the Lairig Ghru. We were booked into the family room, which was fine for us and nicely set apart from the main hotel building. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We were cooked an early breakfast so we could get underway with our walk. I was offered a couple... More

Nice Hotel, cozy room and nice bathroom. The room is not very big, therefore there was only one chair in the room. The Manager was really kind and helpful. Delicious breakfast, that was served on nice big tables in the dining rom. And there was also a cozy bar, which we did not use. We would come again!

Day 2 of our cycling holiday & we'd prebooked for our evening meal on a recommendation. I'd read mixed reports on trip advisor but our B&B had recommended it too. Were a bit early but sat in bar & gave order. First thing that I noticed was that none of the dishes had any alcohol in them ! Great !... More

From the reviews, I had to meet “the rudest man in Scotland” for myself. How disappointed was I to find fine host, with a drole sense of humour. When I mentioned to him the good Trip Advisor reviews, he told me he got his mother to write them. The delicious food was home cooked, and well presented. The service was... More

Didn't stay at the Moorfield but had booked it for evening meals during our 3 night stay as it is one of the few places in Braemar that allows pets into the bar area. The service and food were really good. The bar area has metal furniture which looks uncomfortable but isn't. Bar also has a log stove, which adds... More

My husband and I visited on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews but were seated in a room with no windows and metal chairs and tables. Once we realised this was where they were proposing to serve dinner we decided to leave- there was only one other customer there so the host was clearly annoyed. We had a drink and... More

Rubbish Review !! It helps if you get you facts right when you leave a review !! What happened was on arrival they were invited to have a seat in the bar to look at the menu, make their choices and have a drink while the meal was being prepared. Dinner is served in our lovely conservatory style restaurant which... More

I stayed there with my boyfriend for Valentine's night. After the arrival, we have been informed that there's nowhere for us to eat in the hotel restaurant , because all the tables were booked out to people who were not even guests!!! When I dared to ask for explanations and advise on where else could we go and eat, the... More

A very selective and inaccurate review of events from someone who clearly thought they were a bit of Diva ! This couple booked B&B online for Valentines Night. On arrival I explained that as it was Valentines night other guests and others had already booked all of the tables after 7.00pm - so it is not true that they could... More

I stayed here for one night in Mid March due to work commitments in the area. Following quite a lengthy drive i arrived at around 19:30 where i was greeted by the warmth of a roaring log burner and the friendly smile of the owner Ian. Up on check in Ian explained that it was quiet season and there was... More

Just got back from a four night stay at the Moorfield House Hotel. The hospitality was great after long days in the hills but the food was the highlight. Every course excellent throughout. I'll definitely be back!

The welcome felt genuine when we first arrived and the same relaxed informality continued during our two night stay. It was true Scottish hospitality. Our bedroom was bright but the lounge (where wifi reception was best) was a bit dark to be comfortable for long. The bar (which we didn't frequent - for once!) had a fire and looked much... More
