Fantastic real ales, and a superb meal - reasonably priced. Greeted with a genuine warm welcome and also catered wonderfully for our adventurous 4 year old! Will certainly be back to stay for a night or two in the future.

We very much enjoyed our all too brief visit. A smiling welcome, a well-appointed and comfortable room and a very enjoyable dinner all added up to a most pleasant stay. Our two little dogs were allowed in the bar and the food was deliciously un-cheffy (and great value for money!) The absence of tv in the bedroom was, for us,... More

We spent three night at the Moorfield House hotel and could not have been better treated. Ian and Elspeth are fabulous hosts catering to guests' every need. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable. The food is superb from the perfectly cooked poached eggs in the morning to the unique dishes prepared each evening in the small (eight table) dining... More

This is a dog friendly hotel. We had a lovely room in an annex next to the hotel. Very quiet. Lovely owners. Super food both in the evening and at breakfast. Very helpful. Lovely walks nearby. Would definitely return.

We were staying elsewhere in Braemar and recommended to eat in the dining room here. Th dining room is well set out with lots of room between tables and looks out over the green rear yard. Ian our friendly host met us in the bar where we had a drink and our order taken. In very reasonable time Elspeth arrived... More

A group of four of us booked to stay at the hotel overnight while walking from Blair Atholl to Coylumbridge, via Linn of Dee. Ian could not have been more helpful, giving us lifts, setting up a private dining room, enabling us to have dinner after the kitchen was scheduled to have closed and providing packed lunches for day 2... I am well travelled and have stayed in some basic as well as luxury accommodation over the years. A one night stay in a twin room was the worst I have known. No tv or wardrobe or clock. One of the mattresses was broken and literally had no springs in at all. The bathroom smelt and was tiny. The décor... More

I certainly wouldn't describe the room as luxurious however it was comfortable and clean. The room was fine for our one night stay but lacked furniture for a longer stay. There was one chair, one small bed side table, a very small hanging area and no TV. We didn't dine in the restaurant however we did have breakfast which was... More
