We are on a tour of Scotland this was our third hotel, it was shocking. The previous two were excellent value for money but this hotel was definitely not. There was a bad smell in the room, the bathroom ( if you can call it that) I wouldn't walk bare foot on the floor as it was sticky the vent... More

This hotel has a certain charm when you first arrive, it is an old hunting lodge after all. The reception was okay but the interior photos have obviously been taken in the lounge bar; there was not a trace of tartan in the reception area. Unfortunately it's all downhill from there. Certain failings you accept because of the age of... More

We got a very late cheap deal with Easybreaks for a 1night stay on Good Friday and having read some of the previous reviews we wondered what was awaiting us!! We were pleasantly surprised!! Although dated and somewhat 'tired' the hotel was clean, the staff welcoming and the food much better than expected. We had a front facing room and... More

Stayed here for a weekend (Fri-Mon) with Urquharts coach tours. Very, very disappointing. Hotel was dated - something like out of the 1970s. Decor was abysmal - needs a complete redecoration and refurbishment. Carpets were dirty and threadbare and the stair carpets even had stair rods - can't remember seeing these since my childhood in the 1960s. Management and staff... More

The food was good and plenty of choice at breakfast although a little slow . Staff were pleasant and most helpful and embarrassed when we complained about cleanliness.we wouldn't stay there again.

Went to have a meal after a long walk in the mountains, despite a sign stating 'Bar meals served all day', the bar staff didn't seem interested in serving us, and then advised that they started taking orders after 6pm, staff on reception were totally disinterested in receiving customer feedback on their (lack of) service.

This was our umpteenth visit over the last 25 years It does not change much-the staff are excellent breakfasts top notch and good choice for dinner. The entertainment was basic but very enjoyable and the staff made great efforts to ensure any problems were solved without delay. If you are thinking of visiting for the first time do not take...
