Great food and amazing lobby and old fashioned shooting lodge decor, great. The room was tired tho. Cold tap did not work, bathroom door got stuck, carpet warn. But was clean and great view. Tricky as breakfast and breakfast staff were great but room and welcome staff not so great. Complained about room and just got blanked really, would not budge... More

Just back from a 2 day stay at the hotel. Although the decor is a bit tired, the room was clean and all that was required. Staff were helpful and food was excellent. Well situated for surrounding areas with beautifull views. Bar is a bit pricey but plenty selection. Will definately stay again. Value for money

After reading reviews I thought I would be disappointed but in fact we had a nice spacious room with lovely view over the hills. The room was clean, comfortable and peaceful, and we found the food and service to be far better than expected. We also found the reception staff to be pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our break... More

We just stopped by the Fife Arms Hotel for the lunch counter one chilly, misty day. Perfect vegetable soup with a roll & butter. Very traditional hotel lobby, with lovely staircase and historic look. Happy to have a warm lunch.

Peeling wallpaper and scruffy, barren rooms. My sheets had suspicious marks on them that looked like mould, possibly. My friends and I ate in the bar. My fish was fine - the batter was crispy, but the chips were a little undercooked and the mushy peas were no longer mushy. My friend's 'venison' burger was vile, tasting of offal and... More

I'm sad to say that the hotel was very disappointing the hotel was in need of urgent modernisation. My room was also the size of a broom cupboard, ok if your from the shire and your called Bilbo Baggins. We had no hot water on occasions and when we did the pressure was poor, my shower was a rubber pipe... More

We went to Fife Arms for lunch. We arrived there with 10 other guests and since all ordered around the same time, we waited for 35 minutes for our food - way too long for 10 meals from which half were all burgers. I only ordered the soup of the day which was not really warm and I even found... More

We booked ourselves a room at the Fife Arms at Braemar on our week's tour of Scotland. What a disappointment. The exterior is most impressive - a granite Victorian hotel in the grand style, in a prominent position. However, this is where any good impression ends. The lobby, lounge and public areas are dirty, ill lit and old-fashioned. The hotel... More

Work payed £84 a night B&B and although I got a suite with 4 poster bed, the decoration in the room left something to be desired. No shower or bath gell and once the shampoo was used it was not replaced. There was no hot water on Thursday afternoon, in fact no water came out of the hot tap at... More
