Stayed for business, filming a pilot for Televison. Without a doubt, the most pretentious, poorly operated, dirty. over-expensive, incompetently-staffed messes I have ever been forced to endure. The staff, wanting to appear sophisticated, I assume, mangles every simple request for service via a condescending shrillness. The Spa facilities is shiny and new, boasting a very modern gym. However, the cost... more

My sister and nephew specifically booked a castle room for their stay at Airth, but when they arrived they were shown to a room in the newer hotel section. The room was very shabby, with stained bedcovers and the amenities of a budget motel. They had also stayed at Dalhousie Castle earlier that week. They found Dalhousie to be wonderfully... more

The castle is old, tired looking and unwelcoming - because the warm and welcoming reception area is in the annexe - or the annexe is the main building - we don't know which. However, for a hotel to promote its castle as the main selling point, we'd have thought that's where it would all be going on ... ... ...... more

My Parents were due to celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary and family from USA, Aberdeen and central Scotland all came together at this hotel, most staying overnight. I made all the arrangements. Booked all the rooms and asked from the very first conversation if we could all sit round one large table at our evening meal - including 4 non-residents... more

The setting is absolutely Gorgeous, the staff are the most efficient we have come across on our travels and there attention to detail was second to none. The meal my partner and I had in the Glasshouse restaurant was Fine Dining at it's best.! more

Booked in whilst attending family wedding. Location and views - tremendous. Room very tired! Bath and sink badly stained with grout around bath covered in black mould. Walls in room marked throughout . Tea/coffee very basic. The meal at the wedding was excellent and great night had by all although price of drink, especially soft drinks is high. Staff all... more

This place was beautiful, the facilities of a resort with the charm of a castle. Beautiful grounds and very quiet. The food was amazing, the best meal I think I have ever had and great service all round. I only wish we could of stayed longer. It looks to be a popular wedding destination, I can see why! The only... more

Spend two days and one night here on a work event in August 2009. Airth Castle is a fairly large hotel split over two buildings - the "castle" itself and a more modern building with older elements - on one site. It is conveniently located for access to the motorway network and seems to be very popular for weddings. On... more

On arrival at Airth Castle for a friends wedding reception we were excited to be directed to our room in the castle. As the door swung open i was intending to say WAW! instead i was horrified! The bedding was dirty, the furniture was in a bad state, the bathroom had a sloping ceiling which prevented you from being able... more
