Stayed on a DB&B rate. Nice food and hotel itself is quite nice, however, the bedroom was terrible. Needed a good lick of paint and updating. I would say the Premier Inn rooms would be a higher standard. Nothing like the photos on their website. more

Spent two nights here in July and while the exterior is nice and the castle lovely for a function, the rooms are dire. We regretted not choosing the premier inn that was 10 minutes walk down the road and a third of the price. This place obviously trades on being a nice setting for a wedding or a conference -... more

my husband booked this break as a surprise after recent surgery we looked forward to a romantic countryside break in a superb 4 star room with fab views. Then we arrived! our room was average no view and the bathroom ceiling was stained brown from a leak shower head broken and mould on tiles and taps. The saying you get... more

I booked a castle room (more expensive) as I was told they had all been refurbished but our room was very very poor. It might have been refurbished about 10 years ago. Furniture was old and stained, paintwork was flaking and standard of fittings was like a cheap guest house. Room was also small but view was good. Ironing board... more

For the price you pay for this hotel, you don't really get what you paid for. The rooms were standard in terms of facilities and cleanliness, the food was nothing special and the location is miles away from anywhere. The exterior to the hotel does look very nice though, the staff there didn't seem very friendly at all and they... more

My husband & I stayed at this hotel in 2004. We stayed in a junior suite in the castle part of the hotel. I have only just read that this hotel is supposedly haunted & certainly didn't know at the time of staying there! I wish I could remember the room number, but, all that I can say is that... more

What a fantastic experience we had recently at this wonderful hotel. From the welcomoming smiles from the reception staff to the service and quality of the dining teams, we were were truly spoiled over our three night stay. Airth Castle is ideally suited for those wishing to tour Scotland. Day 1 - St. Andrews Day 2 - The Trossachs Day3... more

We were excited about the idea of staying in a romantic castle for a friends wedding. The castle can be seen from a short distance and looks very imposing, so imagine our disappointment when we found out that we were actually staying in a modern pre fab about 100 metres down the path. You can stay in the castle but... more

My sister and I were bought a day package to the cloud nine spa at Airth Castle for our Christmas from our parents. On arrival it seemed that no-one knew what the schedule for the day was, we had been phoned on the Saturday before our day (went on the Monday) and told that we would be having lunch in... more
