Only stayed the one night here but the public areas need refurbishment, looking old, threadbare carpets on the main stairs. Stayed a week in Sep 2007 on business. Staff friendly and restaurant OK. Good breakfast. Rooms a bit shabby and bathrooms small, low water pressure in shower. However, a good value for the cost. Not a lot of hotels in the area so will go back on my next visit. more

Fantastic little hotel near Edinburgh. Probably best suited to people with a car as its a fair distance from Edinburgh (about a £30 taxi ride). The rooms were clean and a good size, nice clean bathroom as well. Yes we did notice the frayed edges on the staircase but hey, for £20 a night I can live with that! :)... more
