I booked a room for a recent 2 night business trip. The pub is a typical pub in the centre of the town & under 10 mins walk from the nearby rail station which has excellent links from Edinburgh & Glasgow. My family room was huge, 2 double beds & a single - it was clean & tidy. Breakfast was... More

Remember those old Holiday Inn "no surprises" ads? Well, we like surprises when we travel. The Barbairdie doesn't disappoint there. We were checked in at the bar in the pub and the bartender drafted a couple of customers to carry our luggage up the stairs. We ordered beer for them later and were invited to join a rowdy family birthday... More

I've stayed 2 days with 3 left it the worst place I've stayed uncomfortable beds rusty radiators broken lamp towel rack, I had to get them to change the bedding as it was dirty from the last people. For travellers if you come of the m8 motorway there's a premier inn which is easier to find USE IT

The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful However, the room was dated and could do with a serious makeover. The tv was very small and there was no wifi. The major problem really was the noise from the bar. The karaoke machine played until 12.30 and the crowd finally started dispersing after one. To be fair... More

Food excellent good value, breakfast is UK continental in other words cereal/toast/ yoghurt but is ok to get you started. Rooms are basic but again ok l just wanted somewhere to stop before flying from Edinburgh Airport which was a far worse experience than anticipated a airport struggling with over capacity. We were told that the Balbardie is due a... More

The meal in the restaurant was excellent value for money and goodsized portions with A very friendly staff. Highly recommended But you might have to book as it very popular especially at weekends. It is very handy for the centre of the town.

Music from a large speaker in the ground floor bar boomed around my first floor room until 00.30, so no chance of sleeping until 1 a.m. Thin curtain not wide enough for the winow. I was warned that the breakfast was only 'continental' but at £45 for the night for one not good value.

The pictures used on a variety of hotel booking websites were a lot nicer than in real life! But my room was spacious and clean - however my friends was really small. It's a really central location, handy for the wedding we were attending. Disapointed at the breakfast in the morning - we were looking forward to a cooked breakfast... More

Just come back from a three night stay at this hotel. The Room was very spacious clean and comfortable but the heating was diabolical, there was no heating and it was freezing,we complained the first night which was a Saturday and we were told that the heating had broken down, they had called out an emergency engineer and were told that the main...
