Was here on business and had rather high expectations. Room was dated, not very clean, (Bedding was fine) and very cold. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was poor to average. Give me a premier inn or a travelodge over a mercure anyday.

Like other customers I found this hotel via the internet, most hotels around Edinburgh would need a home remortgage to stay for a few days, but I found a good deal on this one. It looked good on line, but in real life would it be as good? Yes! We got a warm welcome on arrrival, the room was clean and as described! We... More

I was not sure about booking this hotel with the mixture of reviews, however I am really glad I decided to book it. The reception staff were very pleasant. The room was adequate and had a kingsize bed which was really comfortable and we had a great sleep. I have to say I very rarely have such a good sleep... More

We were looking for a cheap hotel, didn’t need anything fancy - just somewhere to sleep. Checked out the usual suspects (Travelodge, Premier, Holiday Inn etc.). They were either fully booked, or insanely expensive. We then came across the Mercure Hotel - it was cheaper than everywhere else, B&B’s included. I must confess, I hadn’t heard of Mercure before, so... More

Lovely hotel, just next to asda and livingston centre. Very clean. Staff could not have been nicer. Highly recommend if looking for somewhere to stay. The wedding packages are also great, take a look on their website. Stayed here for a wedding, could not fault a thing. Thanks again to all the staff for a great hotel.

Stayed here for one night while away on business. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and the bar/restaurant area was a nice environment for a quick drink in the evening. Plenty of variety on the breakfast buffet. The rooms are OK but in need of some modernisation as they do looked a bit dated. Overall it's OK for a... More

Stayed here twice recently and can't fault the staff at all. From check in to the Bar staff they could not be any more helpful. I left lost property in my room, again this is being sorted without any fuss.Yes the hotel could do with a up lift in decor and the menu could do with more variety but the food... More

We booked at the last minute as we were going to a party nearby and preferred not to drive home. We were charged about £170 for two people, one night's stay with dinner and breakfast. The decor is tired and cheap looking. The lock on our door was not working properly so we always needed to double check when leaving... More
