Just came back from a lovely wedding here at the weekend. Beautiful grounds, comfy rooms, friendly staff and great food. Also very good value. Not sure why this is only a 3* hotel, I have stayed in many a 4* hotel that does not compare to the Harris Hotel.

I went to the Harris Hotel for an evening meal. The starter of haggis was lovely, although small. When my main course arrived I thought my husband had played a joke on me with the waiters. The venison was the smallest portion I have ever seen, cut into 6 slices. There was a cube of carrot (0.5cm square), a very... More

We stayed here again this year, our fifth visit. Lovely room, gorgeous food, excellent service. The thing that stands out is that, although it was three years since our last visit, they remembered us and even gave us our favourite table by the window. They always go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome and cherished.

The fact that we have come back so often should clearly suggest that we are satisfied visitors. Over the years we have been accommodated in a considerable number of rooms in different parts of this 19th century building. Every one of the rooms has been clean, well equipped and pleasant to stay in. Some rooms are a bit less easily... More

Some of the rooms in this hotel are lovely, while others need some TLC. A big drawback staying here is that there is no elevator, and many stairs and long up and down corridors make it difficult for older people. Be selective when booking a room and get a renovated one which is easy to traverse. The restaurant is excellent,... More

We booked in to the Harris Hotel for one night in May. The room we had was nice, but up three flights of stairs (the last narrow) and we're old enough to really notice. My bad, I didn't ask for a lower room when I booked. Breakfast was a little like Fawlty Towers--the waitress got our order wrong on a... More

This very traditional hotel exceeded our expectations. Yes – the rooms are very small (at least ours was), but then again they don’t charge high B&B rates. A few years ago, the food in the dining room would have been unexceptional. When we were there in May 2015 we had an excellent meal, well flavoured and beautifully presented. We had... More

Stayed 3 nights in Harris Hotel Great room and very comfortable bed and facilities. Staff were very helpful, only had breakfast on one day well presented. The bar is very well stocked with over 100 whiskey's. Would stay here again.

Traditional hotel with recently updated bedrooms. Downside was the stairs and long rambling corridors painted a depressing dark green. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Dinner menu was a bit restrictive, so we ate out on the second night. Breakfast could have been better. We were 20 minutes before the end of breakfast but my bacon was hard, sausage was rubbery,... Well situated in Tarbert, the main community of Harris, and very convenient for the ferry to Skye. The hotel is well presented, if a little dated, and overall has a very comfortable feel about it. Without exception the staff were helpful and friendly, and our room first class, with a very comfortable bed. Unfortunately there was no WiFi signal in... More
