Katie Macaskill runs this small restaurant with rooms, and is the chef. We think the key to our excellent stay was to book well in advance and (as she requested) discuss with Katie the things we like and don't like eating. She is extremely obliging and will do her best to design a menu to suit your preferences. She has... more

Lovely little hotel, perhaps more of a restaurant with rooms. Great location, though there was some building work going on at the time, which meant that some local sheep had a free run of the hotel car park - very funny when they managed to eat all the plants and flowers! The breakfasts are something else - don't make the... more

This palce is fabulous. We stayed in the 'barn' our own little croft house - fabulously fitted out into a luxury hotel room - 20 paces from the main house. Now yes dinner is expensive (£48) and very rich food but it is 4 courses. So we only eat there one night - the other we picked up picnic food... more

We have just returned from a 10 day hebridean holiday and would like to wholeheartedly recommend Ardhasaig House on the Isle of Harris. We were made to feel very welcome by Katie who's attention to detail for her guests - both in accommodation and restaurant - is second to none. We had two wonderful meals there with menus designed around... more

I have to say that this is a very special place indeed. We were welcomed and shown to the barn which is a distinct cottage at the end of the drive. The views are stunning and the facilities in the barn are excellent with many nice touches to make you feel at home. We sat outside and gazed at the... more

I spent four nights in Ardhasaig. The hotel offers some nice views over the East Tarbert Loch. A cleverly designed veranda on the front of the hotel enables you to enjoy the spectacle confortably seated in a luminous environment. You can feel that the whole hotel has been decorated with love & care. What I mean is that the owner... more

Speechless...is all I can think of when my wife and I arrived after a 9hr drive, with family, who we dropped off at the Harris Hotel. We spent 4 wonderful nights at Ardhasaig; arriving on the Isle for a family wedding. Oh the food...the freshest produce I have ever tasted and I've tasted some very good food! I never did... more

We arrived in poor weather in August to find Ardasaig deserted.Had to sit in car for twenty minutes until we could locate Katy on her mobile. She came promptly to let us in but not a good start to our stay. I was a little disappointed with the decor which was 70s on the whole with some modern touches. Every... more

We stayed for five nights in "The Barn" and had a great time. The hotel is really lovely -it is not a budget hotel, but we were after something special and we felt that that was what we got -100%. Katie Mckaskill was kind and helpful at all times -beyond what one would expect from hotel staff. My luggage didn't... more

Spent 2 nights here in June 07 and had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay - Katie was a wonderful hostess. If the stay had been a little cheaper I would be writing that it was a wonderful place, with fantastic food, great rooms and thoughful touches. But sadly, whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we felt that it certainly... more
