The reviews from previous guests get it spot on: this is one of the best B&Bs you could stay in. Beautiful room, superb breakfast, warm welcome. What more could you want? Our only regret was that we arrived very late from the late ferry from Tarbet, Harris and left early the next day for our 600 mile drive home and... More

What a lovely B&B. Sandy and Margaret are great hosts. A nice cup of tea on arrival and home bakes. Charming little touches such as Margaret's homemade tablet and local toiletries deserve 5 stars. Only 2 minutes down the road you reach the ferry and before you know it, next stop Isle of Harris.

Sandy and Margaret provided us with the perfect B&B experience on our way to Harris. We could not have asked for a better stay and we felt that we were leaving good friends when we departed to catch the early ferry which is 5 minutes from their house. 3! guest rooms in addition to the bedrooms and a fabulous breakfast... The Cuil lodge with its picture perfect fairytale setting by the water is amazing in its location in the quaint little pottery town of UIG. Words cannot do justice to this beautiful setting or the fact that you can unwind in three living rooms and one of which we called fondly the sun room that over looks where the ferry... More

Uig is a small quaint picturesque town by the waters, the cuil lodge is story book perfect both in terms of location and interiors. We stayed in the deluxe room for 2 nights. The room is spacious and the bathroom has a tub too. All the amenities are very luxurious. There are also amazing little touches like the personally made... More

Even "Very Good" ratings were so good that we expected nothing but excellent. And excellent it is!! After we spent three days on Skye (no rain!!) I realized that the village of Uig is probably the best location, several great trails are relatively close (The Quiraing, The Old Man of Storr). Margaret and Sandy are great hosts and helped us... The Isle of Skye is a wonderful place to explore if you like to experience great landscapes. The Cuil Lodge in Uig is a perfect base to enable a proper exploration of the area. Sandy and Margaret are the best of hosts and provide a delightful B&B experience. Beautiful views of the water and ferry pier out the window. But... More

We stayed here in May before visiting St Kilda to mark our 1st wedding anniversary with the equally excellent Go to St Kilda. Cuil Lodge is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at - extremely comfortable, cosy rooms with excellent facilities and attention to every detail. Our stay was shorter than it might have been due to... More

My fiancee and I visited in June 2015 and absolutely loved it. I initially had planned our trip to Skye with a stay in Carbost, Uig, and Skeabost, but after staying at Cuil Lodge, I wish we would have stayed all 3 nights here. The owners were impeccable hosts that have raised the bar for every B&B we'll ever visit.... More

If you ever have the good fortune to visit the Isle of Skye, plan on staying at least for 2 days. It's not a huge island, but it is so gorgeous that you could spend a whole day driving around and taking pictures. Cuil Lodge in Ulg is in the north western part of the island. Sandy and Margaret, our... More
