The best thing about this meal was the staff - the waitress was pleasant and helpful. The surroundings were drab and uninspired and not exactly sparkling clean. It wasn't even obvious where the restaurant entrance was - we had to be directed from the pub end of the building. A closed door doesn't offer a great welcome to strangers. As... More

Stayed at The Ferry Inn, Uig for one night as a stop over for the ferry to Outer Hebrides. On arrival the hotel looked very nice, clean front and in a lovely position facing the sea in a lovely bay. On entering the hotel – well that was a completely different story. There was no formal reception area, you had... More

My husband and I and our adult son stayed here overnight to catch the morning ferry to Harris. We booked a double/Twin for us and a single room for our son. We had told them we hoped to arrive around 6pm but we were over an hour late which was no problem at all. The owner could not have been... More

This is a review for a very enjoyable lunch we had at the Ferry Inn in Uig. We can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay. We stopped off here yesterday on our one sunny day on the pretty Isle of Skye. After a morning touring the sites of the island we'd built up a healthy appetite after hours... More

A very strange place, the hotel is run for the benefit of the staff rather than guests. Breakfast is served between 8 and 8.30am, last orders are called at 10.45pm on the dot even for residents and if you have the audacity to linger past 11pm lights are turned off and the door locked . We've never felt more of... More

The Ferry Inn in Uig is OK. That sums it up. Its clean and the room was comfortable enough, but overall the place left you feeling as though you were a bit of an inconvenience and that everything was set up to suit them - not the customer. It also felt a bit 'grabby' - by that i mean that... More

We stayed at the Ferry Inn for one night. The location is great - there are walks nearby, it's close to the water, and easy to find off the highway. The Inn itself is pristine, with updated bathrooms and other modern features. The breakfast was excellent, with more than the usual choices for a B&B, and my fish & chips... More

My wife and I only called here for a meal on one evening while we were staying elsewhere in Uig in May. We were recommended to pop by for a bite by a couple of fellow tourists at our hotel who had enjoyed their meal a few nights previously. We were certainly not disappointed - in fact we not only... On our arrival we found it to have a strange atmoshere, difficult to explain but certainly not over friendly. We paid extra to have a room with a view which was quite reasonable but overpriced. Only half hour for breakfast is quite ridiculous for anyone on holiday and to pay extra for a full brakfast is appalling. Evening meal passable... More
