As a 25th anniversary treat we decided on an escape to Skye where a fleeting visit just after we were married left us always wanting to go back.. The solitude was what we were looking for and found it to be sure. On our actual anniversary we wanted to eat out and chose the Ferry Inn for it’s reasonably priced... more

Truly awful unfriendly, unsmiling and unwelcoming. Definately not a place to bring children. Apparently it is being sold on...one can only hope. Plain pasta and a bowl of cold ketchup is what they gave my daughter. It was Fawlty Towers without the funny side. The cheaper and much friendlier bar/diner on the pier is far better bet and approved by... more

I too am surprised at the negative reports re the Ferry Inn. This being our 4th stay over in as many years to catch the ferry to the Isle of Harris, we have never had a bad experience. No one can account for the weather, lets face it the Western Isles and Outer Hebrides are not the place to expect... more

Booked the Ferry Inn after unplanned changes to our travel itineray made us homeless for a night on Skye and selected Uig from a map without knowing what to expect. We arrived in the rain at lunchtime and it rained and rained and rained before we finally checked into our room late afternoon. Having done so we visited the adjoining... more

It was the second night of our honeymoon, and we wanted somewhere nice to stay in Uig, close to the ferry port where we would be getting the 9.40am ferry to Tarbert the following morning. It was a toss up between the Uig Hotel and the Ferry Inn, and because we only wanted it for one night, opted for the... more

I'm somewhat surprised at the hostility of the reviews here because my friend and I arrived at the Ferry Inn without a reservation and were very happy with our one night there. The innkeeper (not expecting anyone) had stepped out and so the staff (working to prepare dinner) stepped away and took care of us, showing us to a twin... more

Having a developed a thirst by getting lost in the woods earlier that day we set off in search of liquid refreshment. In the distance we spotted an Inn as the place was lit up like Christmas tree we were convinced that we had found the top spot in Uig. We were greeted by the owner who looked shocked that... more

The photo's on the website were appealing and at £76 a night we had hopes for something a bit special. After a long drive we arrived at The Ferry Inn which looked very quaint and charming from the outside. Tired we were shown to our very small room (number 6) - which was clean but faded and sparse.. not exactly... more

We stayed a night in the Ferry Inn during our recent trip to Scotland. it was a pleasant surprise for the price and the location. Comfortable room and modern en suite bathroom, nice menu and a small bar. They had a harpist playing at dinner which was a nice touch. Everyone was friendly except the woman tending bar who was... more
