Milliemoppet cannot have stayed at the same Uig Hotel as we did in May 2009. Our room in the main hotel, was spotless, specious, en-suite and with wonderful views to Loch Snizort, Uig Harbour and Uist in the distance. The owners and staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome. This was a special treat for our... more

After a long, arduous journey from nearby Ayr where we stayed in a beautiful, dog friendly hotel we were hugely disappointed when we arrived at the Uig Hotel. The annexe room we had been given was devoid of any soul and smelt badly of damp - even my dogs felt uncomfortable in the room. The mattress on the bed had... more

The hotel has a very good website of its own which makes booking real easy. Hotel is ideally situated for exploring Skye, or as we did, overnighting before the ferry the next day to the Outer Hebrides. A warm welcome on arrival and a lovely clean room, with great views over the bay, comfy bed and parking immediately outside. Probably... more

My partner and I traveled from Dublin to stay here and what attracted us was the fact it was a gay friendly hotel, not just gay friendly but everyone friendly really, Bill and Wendy and Dean were so nice and accommodating to us we arrived quite late for check in and she made delicious sandwiches even though dining room was... more

me and my husband spent last weekend at Uig as guests at a wedding. We loved our room, with a very comfy bed and a big window with a beautiful view of the harbour and Lewis in the distance. The breakfasts were great, my hub was a chef and it takes a lot for him to be impressed but the... more

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you have the chance stay somewhere else. customer service at this hotel was the worst I have encountered in any part of Scotland, Europe or the world. Arrived at the hotel after 3 hours driving to find our rooms in the annex. The rooms were split in 2 with a corridor... more

After a long travel from New Zealand and spending a few weeks travelling in the Uk we finally found a piece of Heaven. Upon arriving at the Hotel we were greeted with a friendly welcome from the Owners. We were booked into the superior rooms that were well deserving of their names. Our dinner at the restaurant was absolutely delicious.... more

Brilliant location and terrific value for a single ensuite room (No.1) with full breakfast AND delightful view across the bay. In high season paid only £49.50 per night. Friendly, obliging staff and a good restaurant made for a very enjoyable stay. more

We had travelled from London and arrived late and weary. We had a warm welcome and were delighted to find our room was large, stylish and well stocked with hot drinks and biscuits. We only stayed a night as we caught the ferry in the morning to uist, but our experience was of comfort, value, great food, great beers and... more

We had a very pleasant 3-night stay while visiting Skye for a wedding. Tried to book several hotels in Portree where we found the prices exorbitant and the reception personnel very unhelpful. Uig Hotel is a little gem. Very friendly owners & staff, immaculate bedroom and the restaurant menu, although limited, offered superb well presented food. All in all we... more
