Typical SYHA hostel really. Good facilities - clean and comfy. Large communal dining area, well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Situated on the hillside above Uig you get great views, but you are a few miles from the ferry. Very steep access road. I've stayed here a number of times over the years - always pleasant. Staff very helpful. Hostel... More

Cheap and effective. We had no real problems here. The view is lovely. There was unfortunately no internet. Shower was reasonable. If you just want a place to crash this is great. If you want nice accommodation look elsewhere.

Nothing too bad with this place, it's clean and the service is helpful. The kitchen is big enough and stocked well enough with utensils to prepare meals adequately, the lounge and dining area is comfy and ample in size to accommodate large groups. It loses points because there are no electrical sockets in the rooms (!) and there is only... More

Stayed here for a night yesterday. Check in starts in the evening at 530pm and ends at 1030pm. Nice staff, quick check in. Spacious common area, WiFi is chargeable. We had the private 4 beds room. Clean, with blankets that keeps you warm during the cold nights. Overall great stay. Would recommend and stay again if I ever visit Isle... More

Having just climbed Ben Nevis our tour was bound for the Hebrides which is why we chose this hostel. The night before we stayed here, we had been in a supposedly four star hotel at Fort Augustus, the Inch which was a huge disappointment Uig Hostel was much more friendly, and a nicer experience by a country mile. The hotel... More

Excellent service and clean. Big kitchen. Great view over Uig harbour. Family room with bunk beds was comfortable but basic - it is a youth hostel after all! Rating reflects lack of power points in the room and having to pay for poor internet connection.

We stayed their from 20th June - 23th June'2013. It has been very cozy stay there on their extremely comfortable couches in the lounge and in reading room accompanied by nice views of coast. Kitchen is very spacious and clean and so very inviting. You won't feel lazy to cook your own food. Rooms and beds are also very clean... More

I've stayed here twice now - the last time in July 2012 on my way to Berneray. I've got to admit, it's not the best place I've ever stayed. The bunk beds are unstable and there's no power sockets in some rooms. On the plus side, there were friendly staff and free tea and coffee. The internet's chargeable round here,... More

Uig youth hostel We(4 boys) had the pleasure of staying in Uig Youth hostel for a period of three days from 25-27 Aug 2012. The location of this hostel is very good with a very good view of the bay, but then Scotland and particularly Isle of Skye is full of breath taking views. Chris and Sara ( I hope... More
