it was with a little trepidation that we arrived at Ullinish after some of the negative reviews we had read about the welcome (or lack of it !) Pam and Brian could not have been more friendly on our arrival after a long drive up from Glasgow...Tea and home-made cake in the lounge arrived without our request and the hospitality... more

We had 5 nights at the end of last month and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had the Dr Johnson room which was large as Scotitish hotel rooms go, had dual aspects over the country side and seascape and was beautifully clean and fresh with appropriate old style furniture and a bathroom with roll top bath. The bathroom was probably... more

We stayed at Ullinish Lodge on Sunday 24th May for one night. The hotel has a wonderful location, Pam and Brian were welcoming and friendly and the dinner was one of the best we had in Scotland comparing favourably with Kinlock Lodge where we spent the next 3 nights. We like another reviewer had the room Shula which bore little resemblance... more

I'll be honest and say that I was a little worried after reading the previous reviews. We came with an open mind and am so glad we did. The drive over to Skye from Aberdeen was our first eye opener of the amazing scenery we have on our own doorstep. We crossed the Skye Bridge and our amazement at the... more

The location was lovely, the food was fabulous, but the churlish nature of the hosts left a sour taste in our mouths. It started with a less than warm reception by Pam upon our arrival and Brian being downright nasty later on when we had the audacity to ring for service, as there was no one at the counter. It... more

We had just left a fabulous 4-star (under-rated) B&B in Callander (the Westerton) and headed for Skye. We booked a two night stay at Ullinish, a 5-star-rated facility to include dinner prepared by their award-winning chef. The room to which we were led (Sula) was barely twice the size of the bathroom we had just left in Callander! The description... more

We would like to respond to your review as follow:- The Room The view of the garden has not altered. A house has been built along the road - nothing to do with us and the shed you refer to is two gardens away. This building is 300 years old and was originally a farmhouse and as such we have...

This property requires that their guests dine at least one night at their four star, expensive restaurant. The room was expensive ($400/night), the food was expensive ($84/person plus wine or drinks) but great, but beware- 'half board' means you must eat all your dinners there. In addition, the owners charge high prices for things like ice ($7 per glass!), and... more

We had booked a nearby luxury self-catering cottage (only 10 minutes walk away) for a week, and had intended to eat here on most evenings, for convenience, after returning from our various trips out around the island. But on our first day, we called for lunch, and discovered that (contrary to what is clearly stated on both of their road... more

We accept that our signage states that non-residents are welcome for lunches. As we explain to people, due to a lack of demand for lunches this season we decided that it was uneconomic for us to provide this facility when there were so few people. You must surely appreciate that we are in a remote corner of Skye an very...

Described as a restaurant with rooms, you have to have the evening meal (@£45) for the first night but we opted to have it for the second night as well as it was so good. Very imaginative, very beautifully presented, best food we've had for a long time. Fabulous location, remote and beautiful. Very comfortable rooms - not huge but... more

Read about this Hotel when booking others on the Isle of Skye. Did not choose to stay there because they don't allow dogs. However.... due to another choice being extremely disappointing, we telephoned to check availability at the last minute. This small, but fantastic hotel is an absolute treasure of a find. Immaculately clean, fantastic food worthy of a Michelin... more
