My husband and I booked the anniversary package just for one night as we were traveling around Scotland for our honeymoon. It was the best stay we have ever had anywhere. Upon arrival we were given glasses for complimentary sherry or whiskey. Our room was spacious, the tub was divine for soaking, the bed was unbelievably comfortable and the view... More

I agree with Lossieduo - the staff saved the day. And I do not mean the management, but the small group of paid locals, namely Hector, Alan, Brian and Leon (not local but Dutch, but a lovely lad ) who all seemed to do everything - host, wait, serve drinks, join the walk, chat with the guests, etc. Now to... Firstly the staff were the hotel's saving grace.Thank yous go to Leon, Hector, Allan and the 2 lovely ladies who looked after our room and the whole of the hotel (from what I could see) to a very high standard. They were always available, helpful and in Hector and his Mum's case there above and beyond the call of duty.... More

Wonderfully situation on the Isle of Skye. Lovely old building ruined by attempt by new owners to modernise. On our Hogmanay/New Year package it was obvious that staff were only just taken on board. The chef had left and all cooking was done by the owners with the help of staff. Food was alright but menu had been changed at... More

I was looking for Flora McDonald's cottage but was hungry so I went into the bar. There I was greeted most courteously and provided with an excellent glass of beer.Soup of the Day was wild mushroom, of which I am very fond. It came to me hot, in large quantity and with wholesome bread. I don't remember having better. My... More

Fantastic location, fantastic house and great food. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to do it. We had a room in the cottages at the back and they allowed our dog to stay with us which was great, it was a twin room which was a little on the small size but had... More

Histotrical hotel that offers splendid choice of accomodation , including season specials.. The Xmas and New year offers are amazing though very very expensive. Downside is it is overly expensive. The new year special is a must to sample with trips to neaby locations...on foot. You are ready for the nosh by the time you return and shower

My friend and I stopped in for a bite to eat last week and were greeted by a lovely young waiter named hector. The food was delicious and the staff that were working made us feel so welcome, we are definitely recommending this place to our friends and family, fantastic place with a fantastic atmosphere!!

Went there recently. Promised a superior suite. The room was very tired and unloved. We were so shocked. Nothing had been spent on it for a long, long time. Owner told me in the bar that they need some attention and the bedroom decor as "busy". It needed some attention: sheets, mattress, towels, and curtains were all similarly threadbare and... More

On our way through the Trotternish, we stopped at The Flodigarry Hotel hoping to get a nice lunch. We also wanted to find out if we could see the cottage once owned by Flora MacDonald that is now part of the property. The area was gorgeous with some stunning views. We went inside and found the reception area very appealing,... More
