An amazing hotel with great staff. Had a lovely welcome of Paul and Bette with a glass of Sherry, mean while our luggage was brought up to the room and after were guided to our room with a sea view! Bathrobes, comfortable bed, good shower and was in a good condition. We were having dinner in the restaurant, lovely girl... More

The recent refurbishments have rejuvenated this wonderful old building creating a warm, friendly atmosphere amidst stylish surroundings. The new chef and his team serve up a dining experience not to be missed. Last but not least the commitment from the hosts Paul , Bette and their staff make your visit complete.

myself and wife and our two terriers dogs booked our 3 day stay here late September 2014, on a tour of the Scottish Highlands. we was in one of the Flora MacDonald cottages. could not fault this place. the rooms in the cottage are warm, clean and idyllically quaint. adjacent to the main hotel, which is an old hunting lodge, you... We deviated from the normal tour route with our classic car rental company and found this place ourselves online. We splurged and got the Mary Queen of Scots room for one night. Close to the Quiraing this is a hidden gem with a breathtaking view of Staffin Bay. Nothing disappointed us. The restaurant was good ... not great. The location... More

My husband and I booked the anniversary package just for one night as we were traveling around Scotland for our honeymoon. It was the best stay we have ever had anywhere. Upon arrival we were given glasses for complimentary sherry or whiskey. Our room was spacious, the tub was divine for soaking, the bed was unbelievably comfortable and the view... More

I agree with Lossieduo - the staff saved the day. And I do not mean the management, but the small group of paid locals, namely Hector, Alan, Brian and Leon (not local but Dutch, but a lovely lad ) who all seemed to do everything - host, wait, serve drinks, join the walk, chat with the guests, etc. Now to... Firstly the staff were the hotel's saving grace.Thank yous go to Leon, Hector, Allan and the 2 lovely ladies who looked after our room and the whole of the hotel (from what I could see) to a very high standard. They were always available, helpful and in Hector and his Mum's case there above and beyond the call of duty.... More

Wonderfully situation on the Isle of Skye. Lovely old building ruined by attempt by new owners to modernise. On our Hogmanay/New Year package it was obvious that staff were only just taken on board. The chef had left and all cooking was done by the owners with the help of staff. Food was alright but menu had been changed at... More

I was looking for Flora McDonald's cottage but was hungry so I went into the bar. There I was greeted most courteously and provided with an excellent glass of beer.Soup of the Day was wild mushroom, of which I am very fond. It came to me hot, in large quantity and with wholesome bread. I don't remember having better. My... More

Fantastic location, fantastic house and great food. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to do it. We had a room in the cottages at the back and they allowed our dog to stay with us which was great, it was a twin room which was a little on the small size but had... More
