We had actually wanted to stay in the nearby hotel, however they had lost our reservation and there was no room. We stayed two nights. Staying at the Flodigarry Hotel was a far cry for us from hostels and B&B's (and much more pricey) but in my opinion it was well worth it. We had the room Alexander in Flora... more

I drove the 750 miles from home to Flodigarry with my mother and uncle wondering how I could handle Christmas staying in a hotel. Normally, Christmas meant over-indulging at home in the traditional British way. We didn't want for anything apart from our 4 night stay wasn't long enough. Pascal, Nina and the other staff made us feel so welcome... more

I've rarely been so disappointed in a hotel. Our first impression was the overwhelming smell of cat pee as we entered the porch. The manager was very welcoming and helped with the luggage but I found it hard to mask my disappointment in our room. I had booked a superior twin room at £160 for the night. We had a... more

I arrived to be met by the manager telling me that I had booked 2 rooms and not the 1 room I had. There followed a stand-off at reception with him finally conceding that he wouldn't charge me for 2 rooms - needless to say it didn't create the best initial impression. The room (Flora MacDonald's cottage) was nice enough... more

For several years, we used to go to the Flod and loved it. So this year after a five year gap, we thought we would go back to what had been one of favourite places. It was a shame, overall what had been a lovely place has grown tired, worn and lost a lot of its sparkle. This was in... more

Beautifully located, food good but expensive, the big let down was the cost of a glass of house wine - cost me £4!! more

While we didn't stay at the hotel, we had one very good pub meal at the Flodigarry's, and it came highly recommended by our B&B in Kilmuir. There is actually both a restaurant and a pub at the hotel. We chose to eat at the pub as the prices were a bit cheaper and we were not sure if we... more

I carefully planned a special day for our 40th wedding anniversary, which happened during a three-week trip to Scotland. I had reserved, been confirmed for, and paid for a particular room. We were given a different room; I just checked my confirmation email and I was correct—they messed up. We could not have the correct room because other people were... more

We stayed in Flora McDonald's cottage as unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. Charming, but very small rooms - like you are on a boat and if you are over 6 ft tall, you won't be able to stand up. Not that this spoiled our stay, as the hotel has majestic views out to sea and the north of Skye... more

This was our first trip to Flodigarry House and we were not disappointed. From our arrival to our departure we could not have been treated better. Most of our contact was with Nina, only meeting Pascal in the morning but both of them were very helpful, friendly and accomodating. Nina filled us in on local history of the house, the... more
