I carefully planned a special day for our 40th wedding anniversary, which happened during a three-week trip to Scotland. I had reserved, been confirmed for, and paid for a particular room. We were given a different room; I just checked my confirmation email and I was correct—they messed up. We could not have the correct room because other people were... more

We stayed in Flora McDonald's cottage as unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. Charming, but very small rooms - like you are on a boat and if you are over 6 ft tall, you won't be able to stand up. Not that this spoiled our stay, as the hotel has majestic views out to sea and the north of Skye... more

This was our first trip to Flodigarry House and we were not disappointed. From our arrival to our departure we could not have been treated better. Most of our contact was with Nina, only meeting Pascal in the morning but both of them were very helpful, friendly and accomodating. Nina filled us in on local history of the house, the... more

This was our second time at Flodigarry on Skye as we also went for their 4-day Christmas package 2 years ago. The bridge to Skye is free and the drive from Gloucestershire took about 12 hours but you can fly to Inverness then rent a car. The hotel deal is all-inclusive and included cocktails and whiskey tasting. The hotel only... more

My husband and I went to Flodigarry for our first Christmas without family committments for 38 years! It was meant to be a perfect time for us, and it did not disappoint. We arrived in cold, bright weather to a cheerful, friendly welcome, a log fire, and a cream tea. We had chosen a Flagship room which was supposed to... more

I have been a massive fan of the Flodigarry for fifteen years and was excited to be staying there again after two years missing my trip to Scotland. We arrived to be met by builders vans and the obvious rebuilding of the conservatory, rather dissapointed that we hadnt been told when booking as I like eating in the conservatory. Pascal... more

We stayed for a few days in Sept 2008. The overall ambience of the hotel is welcoming, with tartan carpet and a spacious lounge with a fire in the grate. Staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is good. Rates are fair enough for this type of hotel and the setting is spectacular with glorious views from the bedroom windows. The... more

Went into the Hotel for lunch, although the weather was really awaful, it was breath taking views from the Hotel's bar, where we had our lunch and the bar felt very cosey and warm. Good value for money, I had chicken with Tarragon Sauce, very nice, Hubby had the Berger, with Cheese and Bacon, both enjoyed the meal very much,... more

This hotel is quite beautiful. The location is picture-perfect, the outside and inside common areas are great. The room we had, albeit smallish, was lovely. Why not perfect? Two reasons. One: the restaurant and pub are not as well-kept and nice as the rest of the hotel, and the food is not particularly good. Two: the price. I must explain.... more

Visited late August 2008 with my wife, 14 year old son and small dog. Six nights. Dogs are not allowed in the main hotel so we stayed in two rooms in Flora McDonald's cottage adjacent to the hotel. One ground floor and one 'attic' room. Overall I think the hotel does deserve to be called 'dog friendly'. The original attic... more
