Fantastic hotel! I was on the March deal of £99 for 2 nights dinner, bed & breakfast. It was amazing value. I arrived to a very warm and comfortable room. The shower was powerful and the bathroom immaculate. I had expected to be on a restricted menu due to the fact the meals were included in the price but was... More

We stayed here just at the very beginning of the season .. due to a hiccup at our end we couldn't arrive on our scheduled day but the staff were so accommodating and budged our booking. We arrived later in the evening due to the snow we encountered travelling from Edinburgh and received a warm welcome at the reception. We... More

This hotel is now under new management and the changes are notable. Huge improvements to the decor and the attitude of the staff. Dogs are allowed in the bar area of the main hotel which is a must for us. Last year there were massive improvements in that there were mostly local staff who knew the area well, this year... More

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your kind words. The hotel has always been run with the right intentions, and it is great to be getting the chance to improve things. The most important thing for us is that people feel welcome and comfortable here. The material aspects of the hotel are improving and we will continue to make... More

We made an unscheduled 2 night stay at Sligachan after our ferry to Harris was cancelled due to a storm. We could not fault the hotel - the staff were welcoming, attentive and did everything they could to ensure we had a great stay; which included putting an extra heater in our room and providing water for our dog. Both nights... More

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for making the first review of season 2015 a great one! The power cut was inconvenient to a degree but as you said, it made for a cosy few hours! We had much feedback from trip advice last year and implemented a few changes during the course of the winter to rectify certain things... More

I stopped here for one night whilst I was cycling over Skye from North Uist. The location of the hotel is spectacular, right next to one of the iconic views of the Cuillin. The hotel itself is comfortable and historic, complete with a small museum. There is a small bar and restuarant within the main hotel or a large bar... More

We stayed here when we photographed in the Isle of Skye. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet, but not overly large. Our staff were spectacular; they were very helpful and made us feel welcome. There is a small bar area in which we could chat before dinner or later. Meals were great with many selections. We had bagged lunches... More

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your kind review. The rooms are not grand, they are mostly 180 years old in structure which limits what we can do with them but our intention is to make them as comfy and cosy as possible. Sligachan is a great place for photography not just because of our setting, but because of... More

What more can you ask? Sligachan was used as our base for our photography workshop with Muench Worksops, because it is rather centrally located for all one would want to photograph on Skye. The rooms are comfortable, not huge, not tiny either. The staff were excellent, and made us feel welcome and at home. The bar area is very easy... More

The hotel has a history with a room devoted to papers and photos about the people and the hotel's beginnings. For the contemporary visitor, you can make your own memories in a cozy and comfortable pub for warming up after a tramp outdoors, or enjoy a delicious meal in the dining room. The staff is gracious and helpful without being... More

The hotel is perfectly situated for views of some of the Cuillin mountains. They brew their own beer (they had two available on tap) and there is an outdoors kids play area. You can eat at the bar, which we did, or in the restaurant; the menu is the same. Sadly we were disappointed in our dining experience. The barmaids... More

Oh hello there, I am sorry your experience here at Sligachan was not satisfactory. In fact the allegation of food poisoning is about as serious as it gets in the hospitality industry. I find it absolutely unthinkable that you would not get in touch with us immediately after experiencing such difficulties. Relevant food hygiene authorities also ought to have been... More
